Chapter Ten - Changes

"Welcome back Master Sai." Sheena stood at the entrance of the forest as if she came to meet me.

"Didn't I tell you to stay out of sight?" I looked at her with concern

"Yes master Sai, but I sensed your presence and came out to greet you." I smiled and nodded at her the proceeded to walk even deeper into the forest until we came upon her remodeled hut.

Yes remodeled, I demolished the previous hut burning it to cinders. Then I made a new hut a small distance away. This hut was now a bit sturdier and and had only the smell of fresh wood.

I sat inside the hut and lit up the fire place to chase away the mosquitoes then I held my sword up looking at the blade before giving it a bit of maintenance.

It's been two weeks since I returned from the adventurers guild with a mission from the head master. During that time I've been leveling and selling off my monster corpses to the guild while using a false guild card I got from the guild master.

Leveling up had become harder hunting monsters like goblins in small amounts wasn't helping much

It's a free storage space that increases in capacity with each star inside this space time has no meaning and to retrieve the contents is as easy as thinking what you want and sticking ones hand in.

I changed my status and showed six of my ten skills,

I kept transmigrator, linguistics, conceal and appraise hidden. Most of my skills have gone up a star and I copied two skills from monsters in the forest.

The exp requirement for me to level up have gained an extra zero ever since I've hit level thirty. I've even increased Sheena level by having her train along side me.

I put my sword in its sheath and removed my shirt and pants then grabbed a basket that had two rags and a bar of soap in it.

"Sheena, let's go grab a bath" she nodded and removed her tall white gown revealing her bra and underwear, her bra was a half cut purple bra and her underwear was regular women's wear nothing special besides it color being the same as her bra.

I bought her a few pairs of underwear along with bathroom necessities and two priestess gowns that went along with her job class.

Jobs, after doing a little study I realize even people get jobs and even tho our skills don't grow from levels from monsters but from star grades, I realize humans get skills based on their jobs with me being an exception my status and skills are fixed I can't gain a job or a new skill. I can only copy skills using my copy skill.

Sheena removed her underwear then jumped into the stream growing water in the air. I gave her her rag and got into the stream then applied soap to my rag then passed on the bar of soap to her.

While getting my body soapy I looked over at Sheena, I was looking at her evolutionary changes as she leveled up.

Her fangs that once stood at a length outside her mouth were now not visible, they shrunk and where now inside her mouth, she could now pass for a real beauty. Her skin darkened to a deep shade of green and she now had two red line patterns running from her chin, along her neck, over her breast, down her stomach and the stopping at her pelvis bone.

Maybe if she keeps evolving she'll look even more humane. I wonder if the fact that she submitted to me influenced her evolution.

She noticed my stare and looked back at me slightly tilting her head to the left.

"It's nothing." I shook my head then went under the water. My life in this world didn't turn out as planned, I planned on living in the city like a regular person. I planned on getting married and having a family and avoiding life threatening stuff and being a regular adventurer with enough skills to stay safe on missions.

Now I had to fight monsters and level up with my monster companion because my life depends on it.

Life is hard.

Never goes as one would expect.

"Hey, Sheena." I spoke in a low voice looking up at the sky through the sky's that were slowly changing as the night drew closer.

"Sheena here." She stood up from under the water and took a breath from which she was holding her breath.

"Would you like for us to go on a journey?... that way we could fine stronger monsters and level up faster. We can always get a better home and even explore labyrinths and find treasures. Don't you think that's a good?" I looked at Sheena awaiting an answer.

"Sheena goes where master goes." She smile while replying in third person as per usual.

"Let's head home and get some rest we'll start our journey tomorrow."
