Chapter 8

The next time Valentino opened her eyes she was greeted by the usual white ceiling of her bedroom. She was in her room in the comfort of her bed. How did I get here she thought as she struggled to remember what happened to her the previous day. The last thing she remembers is the shocked gasps from her entire class after the stunt Alex pulled yesterday.

She reached for her phone to look at the time and as if on cue her alarm rang informing her of how it was time to get ready for school. These days she woke up earlier to avoid her mother. It was six in the morning as she still had an entire hour before her parents were up she made here way to her closet to pick out today's outfit.

She picked out a pair of navy blue denim jeans, a white tank top, a jacket and a pair of black heeled boots, after which she went and took her bath. She left her room with half an hour to spare but unfortunately for her when she made her way downstairs she found her parents already waiting for her in the living room.

Before she could even devise a plan to slip away her father was the first to speak, "How are you Valentino?" he said his voice emotionless making her wonder if she was even their daughter. She only,nodded her head making her way to the kitchen to grab an apple. She could hear her father sigh which was always a sign that mother dearest was about to explode , as she headed to the front door with an apple in hand.

She made her way to school by foot as she tried to recall how she got back home yesterday as she had a lot of missing pages in her memory. After a thirty minute walk she was at school. She went straight to class, sat down and plugged her earphones in to drown her sorrows.

She had been lying on her desk with her head rested in her hand as she looked outside when she felt a hand tap on a shoulder and her body quickly turned stiff. She stared back to find a guy with brown eyes and curly brown hair before her with a friendly smile plastered on his charming face.

After searching in her memory she finally recognized him as Chase one of her group members. Lazily taking her earphones off she said "Hey, there". When Chase heard her speak, he froze as he had never heard such a hypnotic voice before. Seeing the guy in front of her freeze, Lenny waved her hand in front of him.

Being brought back to reality by the girl in front of him whose golden locks covered almost all her face, Chase could only awkwardly laugh before taking a seat beside her. Seeing the skeptical and suspicious look the girl gave him, Chase could not help but chuckle before he said "Thought it would be good if we got to know each other since we are in the same team. Soo..... I'm Chase captain of the football team and you? ".

Chase patiently waited for the girl beside him to reply. Seeing her return her gaze to him he smiled. "Valentino but my friends call me Lenny" she responded or at least they did, she thought. When Chase caught a glimpse of her silver eyes in between her locks of blond hair he suddenly remembered the angelic face he had got a chance to see yesterday because of Alex which was now hidden behind those blond locks of hair.

Seeing him stop talking she lifted her face to meet his gaze. Lenny was confused when she saw how his eyes remained trained on her face without moving it made her wonder what he was thinking. Unconsciously Chase lifted his hand and cupped her face he smiled as he saw how the shock danced in those silver eyes as she tried to see what he was up to.

Lenny was shocked she wanted to raise her hands to push him away to tell him to stop but all her limps felt numb even her vocal cords weren't working so she could only stare as his eyes which stared at her with mirth. When Chase saw her not resisting his touch he saw that as a green light and using his thump he removed the hair covering her face and tucked it behind her ear.

After removing the obstacles that were obstructing his view of such a beautiful face he smiled in content. "Why did you hid from me for all these years.?"he asked absentmindedly not believing that this same face has been with him for two years now.

There had attended the same high school in the last year and now were in the same university. Both did not know how much time had passed with Chase tenderly holding her face while Lenny remained paralyzed unable to do what she wanted to do the most, which was to cover her face so that no one could ever fall for her beauty again.

Chase was woken up from his trance by the sound of the door being slammed closed behind him. With his hands still holding Lenny's face he turned to see the sourse of the noise . When he saw Alex a smile danced on his lips despite the shiver that ran down his spine.

Alex's eyes moved from Chase to Lenny to Chase's hand holding Lenny's face while his thump caressed her cheek before landing on her pink plump lips. With just that small gesture Alex was seething in anger but what infuriated him more was the fact that the girl remained still without even the slightest bit resistance while she let him do with her as he pleased.

His furious gaze then went to her eyes that were uncovered. Lenny did not know why but seeing the expression on Alex's face she shuddered to which both men noticed. With a not so apologetic smile Chase turned to Alex after withdrawing his hands and said "Sorry you had to see that, Lenny and I were just bonding and catching up on something."

With that Chase sat straight without a sign of him moving out of Alex's seat.

Alex slowly walked to his seat which was currently being occupied by Chase. It was only then that Lenny regained control of her body and without wasting time she quickly turned her head to look outside the window while covering her face in the process. Seeing this Alex's already gloomy mood worsened and with that he did not even talk to Chase but lifted him from his seat and threw him away before taking his seat.

He looked at the back of Lenny's head as if he could burn a hole on her head but this girl continued to ignore him. His patience was wearing thin for this girl, who had the audacity to ignore him but was willing to let that bastrad touch her so tenderly.
