Lydia, why are you still here by this time?

"I thought you should have closed by this time!!" Lilian shouted in fury"

Lydia kept quiet for a while, when she realized Lilian was highly intoxicated.

"Lilian, You are drunk again!" Right?

She asked!

Is that you business?

Get-awww-a-y from my side. "Lillian stammered".

Well, I stayed back to make extra income for the business.

Meanwhile, I made thrice of our daily earnings today.

Good..Give me the money!

I'm on my way home.." Lillian said"

Here it is..as she stretched her towards Lilian to give her the money.

That night, Lydia was highly depressed.

She got to her bed but couldn't sleep.

Why are all these things happening to me?

I'm already reaching my threshold, I can't bear. It any more...She sobbed

She began to recount how she lost John "who would have been her lover" and..

How her sister made her depressed, despite how much she made that night.

I know what I'll do, "she said"

She took her diary and meticulously glanced at where she wrote a letter to herself.

She skimmed through the letter until she got to a point where she wrote..

She had to write it seven times as proof she was going to keep to her words.

Now, she was already getting fed up with all the recent happenings.

Oh, God!! Help me... "She sighed in despair"

Alright. I'll give them one more chance.

If they should offend me again, I'll reverse my statement.

She laid down on her bed and slept off.

The next day was their monthly family meeting.

The meeting was officially a business meeting held on the first Saturday of the Month.

In this meeting, Lydia, Chloe, and Lillian will be summoned by their parents to give feedback about their success and failures in the business.

All three sisters worked together in the Super Market even though Lydia does about 90% of the job.

During the last meeting, Lydia was blamed for not taking the business seriously.

She was framed up by her sisters that she had been lazy, doing nothing but sleeping all day long

Lydia never said a word when she heard that. She remained mute without whispering a single word or explaining herself.

She just felt that her sisters were going to change but it never happened as she expected

Her monthly salary was reduced grossly by 50% by her parents. They usually do this as a means of discouraging bad attitudes and mannerisms to business.

The meeting commenced at 8 am as everyone was gathered in the living room.

As usual, everyone spoke about their successes and blamed their failures on Lydia.

According to them, Lydia was the cause of their failures.

Lilian told their parents that Lydia was always lazy to go to the Supermarket.

Chloe lied that Lydia was always stealing the profits gotten from the business.

Surprisingly, when Lydia heard all the unnecessary allegations, she kept mute without saying a word.

Over to you Lydia..."Said her Dad"

Dad, I have nothing to say.

This means that you have accepted everything they said about you.

Lydia kept mute again.

There was an extreme silence in the living for two minutes.

All of sudden, Lydia began to weep profusely still without saying anything.

You will be suspended for a month from this business.

I believe you will learn your lesson after this suspension...." said her dad with ferocity!"

Lydia stopped crying. She wiped her tears with her handkerchief and walked into her room.

Her Sisters began laughing at her wildly.

"That serves you right, Lydia!" Said Lilian.

Before the meeting was ended, Lilian and Chloe's pay was increased by five.

They were so joyful that both held themselves walking majestically into their rooms immediately after the meeting ended.

While Lydia was in her room, she remembered the hidden truth which was revealed to her by her Aunt, how that she was born out of wedlock.

Her Dad was in a secret relationship with her late Mum, who died she was about to be delivered from her.

Her Dad kept this secret until he had to expose it to his wife, which is now Lydia's stepmother.

One of the days, her Stepmother revealed to her sisters that she was born out of wedlock and she was not their legitimate sister.

This alone was enough reason for her to leave her home but remained steadfast.

As she kept reminiscing about recent happenings in her life, she kept crying.

Will I ever make it if I continue this way?

She brought out her dairy where she had written a story of her life and got to the page where she wrote..
