"Damn it" shouted Yang Ning
"Its the Unwebbed Demonic Spider!"
Sensing its aura, he noticed it was stronger then him. In the continent of Dawn, it known that beasts generally were stronger than humans in the same realm due to their physique and denser energy energy levels. In the case of the Unwebbed Demonic Spider, it seemed it was also in the early stages of the Nascent Soul realm. The Unwebbed Demonic Spider did not have the ability to form webs but uses unique pheromones that attracts beasts into its burrow, however these pheromones did not affect human cultivators.
The Unwebbed Spider with its 10 legs crawled fiercely towards him. Knowing this was going to be an intense battle, Yang Ning decided to go all out.
"Fire Slash" Yang Ning cried out as he slashed his sword towards the Unwebbed Spider. A flame slash left his sword, whilst at the same time, Yang Ning combined the element of Wind to increase the Flames energy.
The flame slash that was only 100 centimeter in length expanded 3 times longer and 3 times fiercer.
BOOM!
The cave shook and some rocks fell to the ground from the ceiling of the cave. However the spider was only slightly injured using its hard legs to defend itself. Enraged the spider moved twice as fast. Seeing this, Yang Ning quickly used his wind element to move faster and create some distance.
"Damn it, its strong" thinking to himself
He realized that the option of fighting it out at close range was infeasible whilst it still had most of its strength. Yang Ning decided to fight using range techniques before facing it directly.
Before techniques could form, a following process needed to be met. In the process of using techniques, the sect started off having disciples wrap their aura around their sword. The second was to increase the aura and the third was to manipulate the aura. Manipulation came in different forms such as combination of elements, condensing the aura or expanding etc. That would form the foundation for cultivators could create their own techniques.
Once they succeeded in mastering the foundation, it was now up to the cultivators visualization, comprehension and philosophy to develop their own technique . Once the 3 had been met which was akin to a blueprint, the cultivator would use their energy to physically manifest the technique and realize it in reality. The final step was to give it name that suited the technique as its 'stamp' of approval. The name needed to align with the technique or else the technique wouldn't display its full power. For example, if the technique was called flame sword but the sword was made of water, the technique will significantly decrease in power as the name needed to have alignment to the the technique
Pointing his sword towards the spider he shouted
"Sword Bullet!"
This was concept that Yang Ning had developed using 'bullets' as his inspiration. Using the Earth element, more than 30 miniature swords appeared and charged at the Spider. Yang Ning also utilized the wind element to increase the penetration power of the Swords.
Boom boom boom boom
Pieces of rock strewn the ground and dust enveloped the cave as the bullets both missed and hit the spider as it attempted to dodge miniature swords. Waving his sword, he utilized his wind element to clear the dust to only smile in glee seeing the Spider more injured and bleeding.
Yang Ning had a slight advantage compared to cultivators in this world. Due to his upbringing in the modern world, he could utilize his experience in both worlds to form a technique.
The Unwebbed Spider seeing it was injured and bleeding decided to stop chasing Yang Ning. Its body that was originally over 4 meters large condensed itself to only 2 meters. It was going to stake its life to kill Yang Ning. The spiders speed instantly increased and crawled even faster
Yang Ning seeing this also decided to stake everything he had on this battle. The fight between man and spider proceeded destructively inside the cave as Yang Ning kept utilizing the 3 elements to kill the spider. He was also not left unscathed as he too suffered cuts from the spider. The worst one was on his left leg where the spider managed to shoot one of its hairy spikes almost piecing his leg. Luckily he had utilized his Earth element in time to create a form of 'body armor'.
Both bleeding and almost exhausted, Yang Ning knew it was time to fight it at close range and end it. Both man and spider separated from each other creating some distance between them. The two looked at each other, as Yang Ning was in the air, while the spider was on the ground. Yang Ning was posed in a Samurai position with his sword sheathed on the left side of his waist ready to be drawn while the spider had its legs bent ready to jump.
In a moments notice, they both charged at it each other. Yang Ning, unleashed his sword, using the element of fire and wind to burst out with increased speed. He also enveloped his sword in fire, wind and earth to create a massive 3 meters flaming sword longer than the spider's body.
The Spider ejected 3 sharp hairs at Yang Ning in order to stop his momentum. Yang Ning twisted his body barely missing him before twisting again to evade a leg strike which had cut his left arm slightly
"Dieee!!!" Yang Ning shouted
The sword sliced through at the mouth of the Unwebbed Spider before continuing further, slicing the spider horizontally. Green blood splattered the surroundings, with the smell of burnt spider flesh polluted the cave.
Yang Ning dropped to one knee, whilst using his sword to support him. With his face looking at the floor, he could see drops of sweat and blood dripping down.
"Huff, huff huff" as Yang Ning inhaled and exhaled heavily.
Despite being badly injured, a refreshing grin appeared as he knew he killed the spider. Struggling to stand on his two legs, Yang Ning used his sword to lift himself up. He then looked behind him and saw the dead spider cut in half and green blood oozing out.
From the battle itself, he understood that he needed to get stronger and digest what he had learnt today. Although he had been in the continent of Dawn in the last 10 years, Yang Ning never thought to experience the outside world and attempted to play it safe.
It was probably why his master asked him to go on a long arduous mission in order for him to gain experience. Realizing this, he understood that no matter how many fights he watched or books he read, it would never be enough as compared to experiencing it directly. Yang Ning suddenly felt that once he left for his mission in a years time, the current him would be completely different.
