THIRST FOR POWER AND BLOOD

It was around Midnight, during a full-moon night but the clouds were preventing moonlight from reaching the ground.

A humanoid silhouette came out of the cold seawater and stepped on the sandy beach. The silhouette stopped moving as soon as it was out the reach of the seawater and seemed to be stretching for a few seconds. Then, words could be heard coming from its direction.

"Finally, I have reached my destination... As I predicted covering a distance of 84 kilometers in open sea with my current strength in an hour, isn't impossible?... The most difficult part was to evade the radars and the satellites that are monitoring this island and its surroundings...

That skill is impressive but it consumes too much mana... Now, that I am on this Island, it should be difficult for those radars and satellites to detect me, as long as I am near other lifeforms that possesses large magic power.... Or if I keep on moving around..

At that same instant, the clouds blocking the moonlight was pushed away by the wind, and moonlight instantly illuminated the beach. But there was no one to be seen on the beach, the only proof of someone or something being there, was some footsteps and dozens of flasks remained on the sandy beach.

Led by the lingering scent left in the air, several dozens of human-sized mutant ants to step on the beach, more precisely at the location of the footsteps. Suddenly, a man appeared out of nowhere and attacked the mutant ants. He was holding a dagger in each hand, and he moved his arms very fast such that trajectories of the daggers appeared as white flashes to the naked eyes.

That man was Hwang Jae-Hyuk and he was akin to a dancer that was holding two fluorescent stick in his hands, while changing of dancing partners at the blink of an eye. With those slashes that he made with his daggers, no ants were mortally wounded, but instead their antenna were severed. After a while, several pairs of severed ants antenna were littered everywhere on the beach, and the furious screams of the ants filled the air.

"EEEEEIIIIIIIIIIIKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Jae-Hyuk then used his skill -(STEALTH)- once again and erased all the traces of his presence on the beach. While under the effect of his skill, he moved a few dozens of meters away from mutant ants, and stared at the direction where he could sense the aura of a larger group of mutant ants coming.

'Even though those ants are weaker than me individually... They should not be underestimated when in group and also I'm lucky none of them can fly... Even at my full speed, I still could evade the attacks of all of them... And three ants managed to wound me with their mandibles...

Anyway, these wound are nothing more than some small flesh wounds, and it's just a small price to pay for greater future benefits. But still I didn't expect to attract sixty ants just by stepping on Jeju island.' Jae-Hyuk then started to drink the contents of three flask that he bought from his system's store.

'This is due to their antenna being able to detect chemicals and scents in the air... But this very ability will spell their downfall... After all without antenna, they can't distinguish friends from foes... Now, that I'm fully healed and my guests have arrived, the party can begin.'

The larger group of mutant ants immediately started to engage the sixty ants that had their antenna cut off in a deadly battle. Jae-Hyuk slowly approached the battlefield. Once, the ants were in the range of his attacks, he deactivated his skill and aimed his daggers at eyes of a weakened mutant ant.

As soon as scent of Jae-Hyuk started to permeated into the air due to him deactivating his skill, the mutant ants that still had their antenna, started to target him also. This caused the battlefield to become more chaotic which caused a large grin to appear on the face of Jae-Hyuk, as this has made his hunt easier.

Alarm windows started to pop up on the field of view of Jae-Hyuk more often as time passed, to his great pleasure. Also several headless corpses of ants could be found everywhere on the beach. Mean while, Jae-Hyuk was lunging at one ant to another while completely abandoning any form of defense.

He was more like a predator that was fatally injuring his preys and occasionally killing some of them, instead going directly for the kill. The number of living ants on the beach kept on increasing as more time passed, as the scents of blood spread more through the air.

Three hours later, the part of beach that served as the battleground was littered with a dozen of mountains of corpses. Jae-Hyuk could be seen exhaling some water vapour, while he was standing on top of the biggest and highest of the mountains of corpses. His clothes were almost completely torn and now seemed more like rags that any human clothing. Dozens of empty flasks could also be seen at his feet, and his Knight Killer was firmly attached to his left hand with bandages that had almost completely turned blue by the blood of the ants.

He summoned a flask that contained a reddish liquid that he swallowed in one-go before he threw the flask away. He then summoned his Kasaka's Venom Fang before he got into an unusual offensive stance, where he bent his knees as much as possible while slightly leaning forward.

"The main course are finally here... I sure has levelled up eight times with normal ants but it's not enough to satiate my thirst of power and blood.... I want more and that swarm of winged ants should do the trick... At least for now...!" Jae-Hyuk jumped towards the winged ant that was leading the charge of the swarm of around four hundred winged ants, against the invader.

"-(MUTILATE)-!" Jae-Hyuk shouted as soon as the winged ant was within his reach. The insect was cut into minced meat by the attack as Jae-Hyuk used his Knight Killer that had the ability to cut through armours. Unfortunately for the ants, Jae-Hyuk was not done yet, as the momentum that he got due to all the strength that he applied to his feet, kept him moving forward.

He finally landed on the head of another winged ant that he skillfully used as steppingstone in order to move upward. He used his new skill -(MUTILATE)- repeatedly as he moved vertically through the swarm that has lost its coordination. This caused dozens of winged ants to die or fall while being paralyze and losing health due to him using both Knight Killer and Kasaka's Venom Fang. Jae-Hyuk was now looking at the swarm of winged ants from above.
