The Seraphim is Among You (Hiatus life is calling)

My name is Lyatt Folster. I am a huge fan of everything gaming since it brought a much needed smile on my face, it was an important joy I had growing up. It really became more prevalent for me after I moved away from my problem's in America. Moving to Japan is the best decision I ever made for my personal mental health. The one hard adjustment I had was the difference in height and the language. After a couple years I got the hang of one of them.

I made A LOT of friend's playing game's especially on YGGDRASIL. It was very easy to make friends in Japan, everyone is so nice and respectful. It would be the best place in the world if it wasn't for the pollution from all those cars. Still better than America when it come's to everything else.

YGGDRASIL was the cherry on top of my new life with my new friends. I was a solo player the majority of the time. I never joined any guilds despite being offered to, I like the solo play with the occasional party up on the weekends and holidays. I put a lot of my free time into this game and don't regret a single mili-second.

I mainly played the Seraphim race. In terms of end game strength it was top tier for both PvP and PvE. I had the best non-tournament winning possible gear for my character, the world champion items that were won in the tournaments had been out of my reach sadly. There was no category for 1v1'ers and thus ends that tangent. I had divine class armor, it was called The Crying Heavens, it was perfect for my character because of the buffs it gives to holy hetromorphic's. My weapon was The Light of Longinus, a world class sword I got from an admin I beat in a 1v1. Admins are the one's who give out the rewards in the tournament, he felt I deserved something for my trouble's and his trash talk. I also had a ring and cloak called A Moon's Tear and Shadow of The Sun. Both were super tier items.

The thing I love most about YGGDRASIL was the character design. You can be as specific has you want or just go the pre-gen route. I spent about 6 and a half hours customizing my Seraphim. At an in game height of 6'6 with handsome feature's and a nice build, his name is Amare Vita it mean's love life in Latin. But, my most favorite part were my wing's. Six in total, I can hide 4 of them but the 2 main one's always stay. They are a beautiful sunset yellow-orange, it give's the impression of actually being an angel's wing's despite it being a game. In term's of magic I can boast the higher echelons of power going all the way up to 11th tier, with a very large cool down. It was the racial ability of the Seraphim. I got to chose two 11th tier spells that was matching my angel tier. At end game which I am at I'm considered an 11th tier angel and a direct son of God. The 12th tier is the highest and that's reserved for God it seems and other deity's.

In a couple of weeks the end of YGGDRASIL is coming and to say I'm sad is almost as wrong as you can get. I'm jumping in every free minute I have to savor some of the best memories of my life. I plan to stay on till the server's close as a celebration for all the good memories it has given me. I heard on the forum's that some of the most dedicated player's were getting on for one last hooray and I'll be damned if I'm not one of them.

In the mean time I am meeting some old friends from America today, they are hear for their collage thesis on island nation's and their isolated society. I decided to help them with it. Two in particular a brother and sister, twins to be exact and ohh boy they are a handful. Josh and Amelia Green-hart.

I meet them at the train station, in about an hour they will be getting off if they didn't miss the right one. "Well, Well, Well if it isn't thing one and thing two. I have to say you guy's look worse for wear." As I say sarcastically. I can see the looks on their identical face's. They are clearly not amused.

"Get off my dick Lyatt it was a shitty trip here. It was so hard to find the right station with the shitty direction's you gave. Luckily the driver could speak some English." Josh said as he lays into my comment about how they look. It seems I'm partly to blame for this.

"Josh knock it off, if I have to keep dealing with your attitude I'm going to show just how easy it is for me to make your life hard." As Amelia finishes laying into her brother, she quickly turns her head to me. Oh fuck I forgot about this explosive side of her.

"And you, YOU! Are the whole reason for this whole mess!" She pulls out her phone like its a gun. "Let me read to you just how you made this shit-show happen, 'When you leave the airport and get in a cab just tell the driver to go to the closest subway.' The closest subway was 18 miles and they were four of them, how are we supposed to read Japanese in this place!!!" She scream's in my face.

"Well you got here in one piece didn't you. I don't see the reason for you to go all radiation mean on me miss Green." I say that with as much confidence as I can but, I have a not so small feeling that it didn't work. She is however, in to much of a hurry to get to a comfy couch and in warm blankets.

"Just take us to your house! I need to rest my feet. All this walking is killing me." Amelia says with an annoyed voice. I'm sure everyone can tell she is on a short fuse, it would be smart to get moving. I grab her luggage and put it in the trunk of my car as josh gets his in to.

"It's smooth sailing from here. I'm glad that you guys decided to come to Japan for your thesis. It's nice to see face's from home." I tell them with a solemn voice. I do miss my friends from America but I don't regret moving here.

"Well it is super convenient that we have a friend like you that can help us with this shitty project." Josh says in a very deflated tone.

"Hey it will be just like old time's when we would have pine cone fights and play WWE on the trampoline." Amelia jumps in with a positive attitude just like when we were kids.

"Well let's get you guy's settled in first." As I sit in my seat and start my car. "How long you guys here again?" I said tiredly.

"10 day's is how much time we have to gather the info we need for school" Josh confirmed for me. I wonder what they plan on doing for 10 day's.

After about 20 minutes we get to my place and we start getting everything unloaded for their stay. I'm really glad that they are here during the time everyone is abandoning YGGDRASIL. It make's it easier for me coming to term's with a big part of my life is ending.

We all hang out and watch T.V. I use a VPN for my internet so I can still watch American show's. After awhile we all get pretty tired and go to bed.
