Supply Team

The lady with the sword was furious, she felt like she had never met such shameless people before, even her stepsibling and stepdad were even better compared to this people. Turning around she walked towards Athena before doing a one eighty-degree bow

"Thanks, miss for assisting me earlier, I'll be forever in your debt"

"Eh- you're welcome, I don't need you to owe me" Athena spoke then turned to Evans for help, she wasn't good at communication with people she wasn't familiar with, meanwhile Evans pretended he didn't see her looking at him for help.

"Miss eh, what's your name?" She asked

"Athena, yours?" 

"It's Loraine" she said feeling a bit shy, she felt her name was too lady-like for her features.

Athena looked at her, when a picture like scene appeared in her mind, she looked at Loraine with a deep gaze and then turned her head away. She wasn't in a state where she could interfere with one's destiny, as all things must happen as proclaimed unless there would be destruction. 

"Destruction.... what if someone went back in time to change things that happened in the past and the future is unable to bear the butterfly effect due to the changes?..... i don't think that's possible though, we don't have time wanderers i must be thinking too much then" She thought. 

"Miss Athena, since we won't be allowed in the base, then I must be on my way" she said before turning towards the cowardly lady "As for you, pray we don't meet again unless it'll be your death" Ater she said that she walked away humming a tune.

"What a weird lady" Evans thought.

While all this was going on, in the Military base, four men were seated discussing amongst themselves, the Commander, the First Lieutenant, the Major General and the General (GA), among them was the man Lilliana saw. 

A knock sounded on the door, and a young soldier walked into the room to relay information "Report, there are survivors among them, and we have a fire user, a wind user and a lady who is proficient with cold weapons and another with firearms" after reporting he waited to be excused, saluted and then left. 

"Since we've tested them, this group will be used to gather supplies, along with your men, tell this to the captains" the general said, he was the man Lilliana saw, he planned to use this group as the team for gathering supplies while the soldiers from the base would go with them and be in charge of eliminating zombies, even though they were not trained for that task he felt that they'll be able to survive.

Since the others had been debriefed, they saluted and then left the office leaving the general all alone, he laid back on his chair, then casually chuckled his mouth curving up to a smirk, then a frown before he laughed again.

The gates to the base were opened and Evans drove in, the soldiers at the checkpoint asked them questions to which they answered then stated that their group and the other coming along, be it superpower users or not are required to go with the army to look for supplies the following day.

"You guys go to the right, there'll be a lady to escort you to the resident meant for the supply team, if you want a private residence, that can be arranged you'll need to pay though with supplies" the Soldier questioning them said.

"we'll take the private residence, two rooms if possible" Raven agreed

"Okay then to the left"

They drove towards the left and stopped by another checkpoint, soon settling the matter of the residency and supplies.

In the apartment, provided by the base Athena had settled little Marcus on her bed, he was asleep and seemed to be running a fever, after giving him fever pills and putting a wet cloth on his forehead she left her room to talk with the guys. In the apartment, there was a living room, a kitchen one bathroom and one toilet and two rooms, the base was an estate which had multiple apartment and villas, luckily it was well protected with high cemented walls and barbed fences.

The villas were only accessible to people with high ranking and titles, while the Apartment were for families that could pay for themselves otherwise four people are allocated to an apartment with a room, six for two room. 

"Guys, are we really going to look for supplies?" Damien asked, the moment Athena walked into the room.

"We have no choice, we'll have to go remember we don't own the base we have to listen to commands while we're here" Athena responded, she was familiar with military rules and regime as she had been raised by her dad that way.

"Exactly, play it cool and be low-key understand? we just need to find the lieutenant that was friends with Micah" Raven said while Evans muttered "we'll have to stay low-key till it's time to attract attention" before he fell asleep, he had expanded a lot of energy today while fighting zombies. 

The next day, they were woken up by knocks on the door, Damien thinking it was the military guys calling them to start their work opened the door without being cautious, once the door was opened 'whoosh' was all he heard, and he saw a shadow standing at the center of the living room.

"Miss Lilliana, what are you doing here?" 

"I came to call you guys; the captain said you guys were here and I needed to call you guys to get supplies, between where is Evans and is that little girl with you guys?" Lilliana asked while searching around the house for Evans, while Damien felt irritated.

Out of anger and irritation, he grabbed her hand while walking towards the door and pushed her out "We'll be there shortly" he said before slamming the door in her face. 

"Has she left?" Evans asked while Damien nodded in response "she scares me so much, hopefully i don't see her ever again" he muttered. Walking out of the room he saw Athena strapping her bag tightly then bending over to speak to Little Marcus before flashing him into her space, little Marcus's fever broke in the wee hours of the morning so he was alright, Athena had set up a little play area in the space guest room, she'd stored it with snacks, cooked food stored in a thermal flask and a tablet with multiple kids shows so he'll be fine.

"Are you guys ready?" She said before looking up at them, seeing them all dressed and carrying backpacks she nodded then walked out of the apartment with the three of them trailing behind her.
