A ROOM FULL OF UNFATHOMABLE SURPRISES

"I think I just received the best talent from the G7 system!"

Gad Pa whispered to himself as he walked briskly away. A lot of thoughts crisscrossed his mind.

According to what the Divine Mind Ability had shown him, Gad Pa chose to begin his mission of finding the ten prisoners by visiting the west of the island.

"Zu Mi, are there any prisons on this island?" Gad Pa asked the G7 voice system.

"Information on state departments are classified and only released to those with authorized access," Zu Mi replied.

Well, Gad Pa thought, the G7 government has its own rules and regulations to be followed by all people - the chosen- as they are now called.

"I guess then I lack that privilege?" he asked.

"Definitely, but you can work for the access!" Zu Mi said.

"Yeah, and how exactly?"

"Get more enlightened and prove your Worth to the G7!" the automated voice gave the reply to which Gad Pa was becoming all to familiar and bored with.

"What the hell do they mean by saying get more enlightened?" he felt angry as he thought inwardly about this. But he didn't get the answer then.

Gad Pa left the town, walking westwards. Soon the small town was out of view and he was passing through less- trodden paths heading into the forest he had seen during the experience in the Divine Mind mode.

There were no buildings in sight as he walked on. It seemed that if people ever lived on this island then they restricted their habitats within the small town now a few kilometers away.

"I will just pass through the forest and reach the harbor!"

On the edge of the forest he stopped and looked around.

"Could there be any wild animals in this expanse forest?"

"What if I am attacked, how am I going to defend myself?"

With these thoughts he plucked a tree branch and made a spear out of it.

Just in case.

Deep into the forest he went. There were no signs of any animals and the forest grew darker and damper as he penetrated deeper.

Feeling tires and hungry, Gad Pa went to a nearby tree whose trunk appeared comfortable for a backrest.

"Awww!"

Gad Pa suddenly screamed as he found himself falling into a hole just as he reached the tree.

"Crap! What's happening?" he screamed out of breath as he kept falling into the seemingly endless hole.

Thud!

He landed on a dump floor and water splashed around him.

It was pitch black inside that hole.

He looked up from where he had fallen and could not believe his eyes. There was only a tiny dot of light high above indicating where he had come from.

It was a wonder he had suffered no broken bones.

He had not even sprained his ankle or wrist!

This felt even strange to him.

The previous Gad Pa had been a weakling who could be easily bullied and beaten by others. A slight punch and he would bleed all over.

Something definitely happened during the time he passed out from that sudden jab in the auditorium.

Slowly, Gad Pa rose to his feet and tried to move around. His outstretched hands immediately told him that there were walls all around him except to one side. He groped in the darkness following the wall and realized he was walking along a dark tunnel.

"There is no other way but to walk forward even though I don't know where am heading to!".

"Ouch!"

He just knocked his face against a huge steel door right in front of him.

The door was heavy and fully metal. But as he grabbed the handle it swung open with a creaking sound.

Bright lights stung his eyes and he instinctively closed them before adjusting to the suddenly changed environment. He looked around amazed.

The sight in front was jaw- breaking.

A huge hall running hundreds of feet wide lay open before him. It looked like a huge modern laboratory.

The entire floor of the laboratory was covered thousands of what looked like giant eggs. In fact, they were real eggs, but they looked so monstrous and covered the whole floor of the laboratory.

Unknown equipment stood at various points in the room and appeared like umbrellas enveloping the eggs. A hundred or so were enveloped with a single umbrella equipment.

There was literally no space in between them. From his end, Gad Pa realized he couldn't proceed further.

And he couldn't go back either.

Raising his eyes across the room he realized that a silhouette of a person hung on the far wall in another membrane like equipment. A number of tubes ran through the tube to other equipment and out of the room.

Bubbles streamed through the membrane equipment making Gad Pa understand that the person was alive and breathing.

"What's this place?"

"And these eggs!"

He said as he cautiously reached the one nearest the door.

Gently touching it he ascertained that it was really an egg, but the shell looked even more rigid.

Gad Pa's mind travelled to the man hanging on the far wall. His curiosity got the better of him and he decided to find a way of reaching him.

He grabbed the walls of the egg and tried to climb over it. The egg shell was strong enough to hold him and even the little dents on it served as a support and he climbed onto it. He was now on top of the egg, and the egg didn't show any signs of cracking!

Twap!

Gad Pa leaped onto the next egg, with fear that it would come crumbling down!

It didn't!

Not even shaking.

Gad Pa could not believe his eyes.

"Okay then, let's do this!"

He said and jumped onto the third egg, then to the fourth.

The tenth!

The fiftieth!

The hundredth!

Finally, he was standing face to face with the man hanging on the wall.

Clearly, the man was alive.

Suddenly a voice made Gad Pa almost jump out of his skin.

{Congratulations!}

(You have located the first prisoner!)

(Set the Chosen free and receive great rewards)

…..

It was the Divine Mind.

Again, it had reactivated itself once more.

Gad Pa was delighted. He was actually on a free walk not knowing that at the same time he was completing his mission, at least in part.

Just then he heard a frightening sound behind him.

A tiny yet distinct and frightening sound.

A cracking sound.

Several cracking sounds!
