“Why are you so sure that these assailants were not in our footsteps?” A certain anxiety showed in Irina's question.
“They were a group of bandits without planning or direction, armed with old rifles discarded by the Russian army perhaps after World War II. They did what they know how to do, track people down a road and ambush while awaiting their return.” Boris's response exhibited an apparent assurance that he was actually far from feeling, but they had already agreed with Dieter on not to scare the women anymore.
“If it had been the same group that is following us, they would have already been aware that we are not victims so easy to surprise.” Added the other.
