Chapter 30

Rose's POV

Do you guys have any idea how tiring it is to fly for three days straight? I tell you, it's the exact definition of physical and mental torture. Who would have thought it would be this hard to reach a freaking damn forest?

The mental torture I had throughout the days were when I had to ask questions about the directions to washroom, hotels or any sort of questions to a foreigner who didn't speak English. You could hear my sigh from the other part of the earth when I would come across someone who speaks English.

Of course, there are alot of people who speak English but thanks to my illiterate self, I couldn't even tell which language people were talking. I am happy that I won't have to talk to people in Russia, in the forest since we will be the only ones there.

And right now, I am on my way to Tyler's room. He didn't tell me where he was staying and I got bored as we certainly don't have internet here and I was done unpacking, showering and everything I could possibly have done to entertain myself.

I am sure I've been to this place before, I just know it. But which way leads to my room? I don't want to search for Tyler anymore. I wanna go back to my room because I am lost, apparently.

"What are you looking for?" I jumped ten feet from the ground and turned around to see Tyler standing a few feet behind me with his arms crossed and leaning on the wall.

"Did you do something bad? What made you scared like you've seen a ghost?" He smirked and I rolled my eyes. I walked towards Tyler, hit him hard on his chest and continued walking. Don't ask me where I am heading because I don't know either.

"Where are you headed?" I stopped in my tracks for a mere second but didn't turn around.

"It's none of your business where I go, right?" I walked but I could hear him follow me. I told him not to follow me but it fell to deaf ears.

"Are you lost?" I could hear Tyler's snicker and my face burned with embarrassment.

"Aww. Is my little babygirl lost?" Tyler said in a girly voice, stood in front of me and shot me gooey eyes which made me throw daggers at him.

"Come on." Out of nowhere, he intertwined our hands and walked away. I stared at our hands with confusion and asked him where we were headed but he didn't utter a word. I decided to shut my mouth and just follow him but he walked and walked which started to annoy me.

But then, my irritation was gone when we were out of the hideout and into the woods. It's definitely not my first time seeing the landscape but I couldn't help myself from falling in love with the amazing view.

I inhaled and filled my lungs with fresh air and enjoyed the feel of breeze on my skin.

"Why did you bring me here?" I asked Tyler after a while and noticed he was leaning on a tree a few feet away from me and staring at me.

"We're going hunting." My eyes widened and I frowned.

"Hunting? Me?" Tyler shrugged and I shook my head in disagreement.

"Well, you don't have to if you don't want to. I can show you how to hunt as a werewolf." "It doesn't sound too bad." This time, it was my turn to lean against a tree and I watched Tyler shift and turn to a familiar grey wolf.

The wolf stood there on the ground, staring at me but sprinted off before shooting me a wink which made me chuckle. You have no freaking clue how cute it was.

A few moments later, Tyler appeared infront of me with a rabbit in his arms which made my knees weak at how cute they were. I petted it and hugged it close to my chest, loving how good they felt in my arms.

"Wait a second, you aren't saying that we are going to kill this bunny, right?" I asked Tyler as I hid the bunny behind me.

"When did I leave such a bad impression on you? But if we are out of food in the future and we have nothing left to feed our stomach, that may be the solution." "OMG! How can you be that cruel? Don't you know it's life as well? How co-" Before I could finish, Tyler shut me up to it.

"Yes, I know. I know what you are going to say but if you really wanna be the ruler of ruthless creatures, you must overcome it. You must throw away your humanity because there are way too many greedy alphas out there who will challenge your position and power. You must understand it is some sort of a training for you to be mentally stronger."

As much as I wanted to argue with him that those innocent animals don't deserve to be killed, I couldn't because he was just speaking the truth and I was left there, speechless.

"I am not asking you to kill it, Rose. I just want you to know the day will come when you will have to kill innocent animals and people for the betterment of your own, as a queen of werewolves." I nodded my head understandingly and stared at the bunny in my hands with sadness.

On the way, Tyler told me the hardships he had gone through being a crown prince all along. He told me how alot of alphas were joining hands and planning schemes to drag him down from the title of crown prince so they could get the chance to be on the throne and rule the kingdom. It was truly devastating at how people of high ranks only craved power and the low class just wished for peace.

I followed Tyler and there was a comforting silence between us. I stopped in my tracks when Tyler stretched out his arm infront of me and sniffed the air.

"Does that smell familiar to you?" He asked as he kept on sniffing which made me sniff too and indeed, it was very familiar to me. "Yes, I know this smell but I can't recall where I've smelt it." we both have been sniffing the air which might have looked crazy to people if anyone saw us.

Then, I could hear some shallow breathing and the heartbeat of someone a couple feet away. I kept on sniffing in the air, trying to figure out who it was when Tyler said the name which turned on the bulb in my head.

Yes, this scent belongs to my best friend; Jessica Scott.
