Eunias binned the words off. Just like a mother hen who would rush forward flapping her wings at anyone driving her chickens up the wall, he hunched his shoulders and poked his head forward, as he kept watch on the eagles.
"Eunias," Eliana warned, voice embracing sternness. A low hiss surging forward from the tip of her tongue corroborated that her patience was running dry.
Eunias twisted his lips, his tongue moved, the next set of words was ready to roll off, however, Eliana cut him off.
"I, Eliana Winxx, command the head of septemviral serpent gems, Eunias Khillad, to retract back to his place!"
Eunias's knees automatically buckled from the weight of the words. Gnashing his teeth, he crawled inside his shell, with that his physical form returned between Eliana's eyebrows.
Eliana closed her eyes, and, in a fraction of a second, summoned some brown energy from her silos of earth mana, beneath the navel and condensed them into two tiny dark brown balls. Manipulating them through the mana veins, she stuffed them into the ear holes.
And, just as Eunias precautioned her, her inner energy began evaporating out of her at blazing fast speed.
With the ghostly source of light out of sight, all the remaining eagles flooded towards her. They screeched high pitched cries, communicating among themselves, boring at her.
Nevertheless, Eliana heard absolutely none, for the supernatural sound reduction function, installed in her ears, kicked off the flapping noises fighting for entrance.
She looked at the eagles flying over her, and saw them flapping frantically, eagerly waiting for her to show signs of discomfort.
Suddenly, their desperate looks clicked on her memory jar, bringing flashes of past to play out in her head.
She visualized him whose wingspan exceeded more than twenty feet as he would come flying at their rendezvous. Those pair of wings was so strong that they could effortlessly rival thirty's alone.
Sometimes, on mountain summits and some other times on the bank of virgin spring, he let her practice with his wings and helped her slowly build up her stamina against eagle's flapping.
In his presence, not even once, did he ever allow her to slither down from the mountain top; instead, he used to insist for her to coil around him, as he would scoop down from the peak as fast as greased lightning.
Those black orbs would carry all his fear and desperation, whenever he would try to patch things up, after their tiny little tips.
Their laughter intertwined together, soared the sky, vibrated the earth and rippled the water.
In two shakes, laughs faded away, replaced by curses from her people. Darkness descended, enshrouded his bright face; when time threw light on him again, it was robbed of all sort of warmth.
Eliana chuckled out self-mockery. Just as her grandmother indoctrinated her—time was the key that unlocked the mystery box, and pulled out all the truth by ears.
She tore her gaze from the sky, snapped them shut. Heartache sparked within her, before waves after waves of anger and anguish curled over her heart, overwhelming her senses.
Unlike other creatures, anger always functioned uniquely on her. Instead of dulling, it sharpened her senses. Her gaze flew upward again, not to gauze her enemies, but to check the time.
The only fist of sands remaining in the upper chamber of the hourglass was slipping down tirelessly. The wedding procession would be arriving in Wingland at any time, and Laila couldn't tame her anxiety for much longer. If her mother were to check in her room… She must hurry.
Eliana narrowed her eyes, the golden orbs shaping into lines. She spread both her palms in the air, summoning her inner energy. Soon, reddish smoke appeared on her open palms, which she transformed into two palm size fireballs.
Without further ado, she targeted ten particular eagles and hurled the fireballs at them.
Eagles were always exalted for their agility, which enabled them to escape danger in no time. Nonetheless, at that moment, their nimbleness was trounced, for she employed fifth-grade fire energy to the fullest.
In her previous life, Eliana advanced to eight stages of mana augmentation. Although, later on, this power had been taken away from her, all the moves and technique had been etched into her bones and blood.
Hence, she knew exactly how to use her strength efficiently—to reap off the highest benefit with the least possible energy.
The fireballs enlarged in size as they neared their targets. Instantly, the left one burned five eagles to ashes and the right one exploded four.
The last one from the right batch, bent his spine backward on time. However, the edges of the fireball grazed by his hair, eroding all the way through from his forehead to the upper back of head.
This looked like a paved pathway that wound itself in between lush trees.
"Oops! I didn't intend to put your hair in such a monkey position!" Sarcastic remarks coated with venom ripped out of Eliana's throat, and her golden globes flickered from hatred. Nine bodies had been reduced to dark dust like powdery residue, and sprinkled in the forest by the crazy blizzard to all directions within a second; and tiny pieces of bones still had fire dancing on them.
These voracious flames, stubborn as mule, only died after twisting the hard bones' arm into melting like butter and letting the ground drink away their essence. She even surpassed the savagery of the death-dealer by smashing the eagles' souls to smithereens.
The deceased, doubtlessly, had been stripped of their opportunity of reincarnation, yet she felt her throat parched from the desire of killing intent. Disgruntlement loomed over her heart, exciting the anger and fanning the fire.
She just endowed her mortal enemies with instant deaths when her parents' and all the subjects' souls had been writhing inside their bodies, desperately wrestling with the shells to peek out for a breath of fresh air and streak of light.
Realization sizzled Eliana's conscience for being kind to one's enemy was equivalent to being cruel to their loved ones. The act of granting quick death, which she supposed as her unpremeditated clemency, preyed on her mind.
"Serpent! If you are brave enough, fight us without appointing your magic power!" An eagle yelled. Nine deaths in the twinkling of eyes extracted color from his face; fear paced in his heart.
"We are first-grade magic practitioners, while you seemed to be fifth. Wielding weapons against unarmed warriors is worse than cowardly!" Another one chimed in; albeit, his tonation was furious one, his body didn't cooperate with it, for it was glued to the ground.
Eliana didn't receive any sounds, yet she could lip read them well.
"Alright!" She agreed with a curt nod of acknowledgement. A sexy smirk tugging the left corner of her plump lips upward, bespoke the commencement of the dark clouds being scattered from her heart. Their suggestion actually pressed a piece of soaked cloth on her feverish forehead.
"Let me envenomate the rest of you then!" She offered with a wide sadistic grin; her perfectly even milk-white teeth wished to be besmeared with the red blood of enemies. The mere thought of their thick vital fluid dripping off her protruded fangs filled her with unrestrained anticipation.
