Chapter 2

When queen Jeanie heard that commander Eric is also here, she begins to work the mechanism faster so as to activate it on time before he breaks the door but no matter how hard she tries, she just can't get the mechanism running since it will have to go through some process before working.

"Bang" "Bang"

The sound of the door being rammed by something could be heard downstairs and with the way things are going, it is not going to take long before the guards could finally get inside the tower. Turning her gaze back to the mechanism and seeing that they still need some time before it is completely working, queen Jeanie decided to buy some time before the mechanism started working.

Looking around the tower for something handing to use, queen Jeanie pick up an old rusty big bell that was hanging a little far from the mechanism aa she begin to drag it across the room until she gets to the window where she turn to Jason who was looking at her in confusion as to what his mother is planning to do with the bell only for him to hear her groan lowly as she begins to lift the bell over the window while destroying some part of the wall in the process as she forcefully pushed the bell through.

"This should be more than enough to buy us some time before the portal is opened" queen Jeanie said to herself with a serious look on her face before giving the bell one last push.

"Ring"...

Just as commander Eric was about to hit the door with a large hammer, they heard a loud ring coming from ahead which makes them lift their head to take a look at what it is but the moment they saw what was coming their way, the guards begin to desert the place in panic so as to avoid been turned into a meat paste when it hit the ground.  

"Boommmmmmmm".

The bell crashed on the ground as a loud explosive sound traveled all over the place while moving dust along with the sound.

"I never thought queen Jeanie could be this heartless, first was our king and now she tries to kill us as well" cried out one of the guards who could help but feel his heart pounding really hard having escaped death.

"Will you fools keep your mouth shut and focus on the task at hand here" ordered commander Eric angrily.

The guards were all shocked as to where the voice came from as they began to stare at the tower which is now covered in dust with one thought in mind.

"Did he fail to escape on time and got slammed to the ground" muttered one of the guards?

"You all would have your body and your family's body slammed to the ground if any more time is delayed" roared commander Eric and this time around his voice was louder compared to before.

Hearing his threats, the guards couldn't help but hurried back into the dust to help out only for them to see that their commander was holding the bell in place but his lower body was already buried to the ground due to the force that comes with the fall of the bell.

"Get this damn bell off me" he ordered.

Following his instructions, the guards begin to lift the bell off their commander before throwing it to the side.

Now that he has his leg off the ground, commander Eric look up with veins popping in his head before slamming his hammer on the door and the door that seems to withstand any arrack that is thrown at it was suddenly destroyed by the guards swarming inside the tower as they begin to make way to the stairs.

"Mother, the guards are already on their way here" warned Jason fearfully as he turned to his mother who seemed to be busy operating the mechanism.

"Haha, guess that bell was able to buy us enough time to get out of this place" queen Jeanie said with a smile before letting go of the mechanism as blue light shot from the mechanism into the clouds.

Taking a look at the blue light as it parted the clouds, Jason couldn't help but find himself lost in his imagination as the whole kingdom now looks as bright as day due to the blue light.

"Let's get out of here but commander Eric and the others get here" said queen Jeanie as she dragged him into the blue light and they were nowhere to be seen. 

Right after they went through the portal, the blue light suddenly vanished and the kingdom went back to being dark once more. It didn't take long before commander Eric and the guards made their way to the top of the tower but by then, it was already too late as the queen was nowhere to be seen.

"Looks like they have already gone through the portal" said one of the guards.

"So it seems" replied commander Eric in a deep voice as he kept the hammer away.

"So what are we supposed to do now commander?'' asked one of the guards.

"What else can we do other than to track them down" replied commander Eric before walking towards the mechanism as he begins to work it.

"But commander, the queen could be transported to a random place, so how are we supposed to track her down" asked one of the guards.

"One more word from you fools and I would have your heads cut off" replied commander Eric angrily. 

The guards became quiet as they watched their commander working on the mechanism and before long, the portal was open with the blue shining over the kingdom.

"Now that the portal is opened, I would need ten of you to go into the portal and search for the queen" said commander Eric with a serious look on his face as he gave the guards a look.

After being stared at by the commander, people began to volunteer themselves and before long ten guards had already stepped forward. Seeing the ten guards that step forward, commander Eric nodded his head in approval before speaking up.

"Listen up, once you arrive at your destination, I want you all to split up and search for the queen and if you manage to find her, do not confront her but instead report back to me" instructed commander Eric as he begins to pass communication talisman to the ten guards. 

After receiving the talisman from their commander, the guards begin to make their way through the portal until they are all gone before the kingdom is covered in darkness once more.
