Overwhelming Troubles

Arthur is now 17 years now.The past 5 years has been hell all through.

Forced to mature early to cater for him and his little sister, although his parents were peak liquidefication Realm experts and had been somehow rich, the town head has been coveting Arthur's parents belongings, barely two months after their unfortunate death he swept all the belongings the late couple owned, leaving nothing for the orphaned children to keep.

Although the people of the town were annoyed but no one could do anything to the town head,since he is the strongest in the town now.All they could do was offer their condolences and pity to the poor little orphans.

Left with nothing to used for their upkeep they were left with depending on what little their farms could produce and what helpful neighbors could give them, these continued till the end of the year.

After the beginning of the year the neighbors stopped helping with foodstuffs and the farm was forcefully snatched away from them by their neighbors too. They were even chased away from their house and had to look for a place to live at the slums of the town.

Arthur could not do anything,due to his inability to awaken, he was always called a trash and bullied everytime.Things were at an all time low, he had to go to and work for the only inn in the town, where he was barely paid and had to bring home wasted foods to ease his and his sister's hunger.

Arthur is now 17, he has grown up to be a tall young man, with a very fair skin.His face still has some baby fats but this only added more to his good looks.Women were always attracted to him,many at times women will offer to sleep with him at the inn he was working at.Although women were attracted to him but except his employer,she was a mean looking small woman,with a tightly shrunken and ever frowning face with eyes likes mice.she was always out to make Arthur's day miserable and she barely paid him, always calling him trash because of his inability to awaken.

But she was the only one who had wanted to employ him In whole village,no one wanted to offer him work because everyone called him trash.

Recently Arthur has been going to hunt every evening after he leaves the inn.He always hunted at the periphery of the forest to hunt common beast.

Although he was always lucky to see common Beast to hunt but due to his inability to use mana he always end up getting injured.

Liza, Arthur's sister is now 12, luckily she awakened just a year after their parents died that was when she was 8,they had always kept it a secret from everyone,Liza was always at home cleaning the house and sowing clothes.She was just a step from forming her core .

Today Arthur has gone out to hunt as usual,he used a rank 1 sword his father gave gave him when he clocked 12.The common "red back boar" he was hunting boasted a good defense but had low speed making it easier for Arthur to run around the boar and slash it.Although the board had a good defense but it was nothing in the front of his rank 1 sword.

While he was concentrating on the "red back boar" he did not notice something eyeing him in the shadows.After slashing and hacking at the boar, he decided dealing it the death blow,just as he was about deal the blow a shadow pounced on him.

Arthur was not really focused on the surroundings but he felt danger at this moment, so he stopped ho action and rolled to the right side, dodging the shadow.

It was a demon beast.

A "black winged shadow jaguar", a real nightmare to unawakened people and even to Awakened people. A beast of that caliber can only be dealt with by core realm experts.

Although Arthur dodged successfully but he was not unscathed, the jaguar clawed him deeply on the left shoulder. Arthur was bleeding profusely but he kept his mind clear, he was aware of the danger he was in right now, but he was hoping that the jaguar will go after the injured common boar .

But things did not go as he hoped, the jaguar clearly wanted more than a piece of him. It sprang towards Arthur with frightening agility, Arthur quickly backed away and dodged behind a tree at his back, the jaguar did not give up, it even sped up and chased after him.

Arthur was injured and at a loss on what to do, so he just kept on running towards the town and occasionally dodging behind trees. Thankfully the town was just a kilometer away.
