The Observer

The girl had gray eyes similar to the color of Aldric's and jet black hair she had messily packed together, strands of white deviantly sticking out around her head.

"Would you be quiet?" she whispered.

Aldric, unable to speak as his mouth was covered by the girl's hand, could only nod a "yes", hoping that would prompt her to take the knife from his throat. Luckily for him, it did.

Along with the blade, she retrieved her hand from covering Aldric's mouth, making a single finger gesture against her lips to signal for him to remain quiet. She looked outside the door beside him before closing it shut, locking automatically.

She turned around and walked toward the middle of the room, gesturing for Aldric to follow. He did so, a mix of shock, curiosity, and slight unease swirling within him as he stepped further away from the door. Suddenly, his head swiveled and his eyes narrowed in confusion.

It turned quiet—extremely quiet.
