"Maybe you should wait outside for a moment and then come in sometime after me so my mother doesn't see you immediately. Her reaction would be far better then."
"You want to help me scare your mother? I would like to ruin a happy reunion after you were out all night. Go on," Ian replied, agreeing to wait outside for his turn.
There was nothing like hearing Layla yell and break down early in the morning.
"They must be at breakfast right now or since I spent the night out, mother will be near the door. You'll know when I found her by her screams as she scolds me," Victor said and then pushed the front door open.
He knew he was walking into a screaming match because he had not told his mother about spending the night out and did not call. Ian's arrival might take the focus off of him or put it back as he would be scolded again for bringing Ian back here.
