Scarlet looked out the window at the clear sky. If they got out of bed soon, they could go for a walk around the house or nearby to do a bit of exploring. They still had a long time before dinner and while it was nice to be wrapped up in bed, Scarlet wanted to at least see a bit of the town on their first day.
It was still hard to believe that she had said yes to Ian. Since it was in the spur of the moment, there wasn't a ring on her finger to make it feel even more real. Knowing Ian, Scarlet predicted it wouldn't be long before there would be a ring.
Scarlet liked that there wasn't a ring as it would just give away that they planned to wed and she wanted to keep this a secret. They didn't need to rush in planning a wedding now that they were engaged. They could continue as they were now and have a wedding when they were ready.
