I evolved again. Maybe this time its harder to get to higher levels. Or maybe I need a higher level to evolve. Or this is yet another subspecies of maggot and I evolve quick again.
Either way its time to check my status.

At this point I am not surprised. Apparently I will encounter much stronger monsters soon so I guess its good to be able to have some countermeasures.

I know what appraisal does and fire magic costs too many skill points. So I should check heat sense and magic drain.

This is the closest thing to vision before becoming a fly.
What I have to do is obvious.

I now am able to sense heat signatures but it only works on other life forms. It seems its always active. But for some reason I sense a heat signature on the walls and floor of the place. This nest is one big heat signature.
I check it again.

So the walls aren't inanimate objects. So I have multiple theories.
1: I am inside of a giant monster.
2: The walls are sentient wall, ceiling, and floor monsters.
Yeah the second one doesn't make sense whatsoever.
I am definately inside of a giant monster.
Well I am a small maggot so it might not be that large.
But I have some kind of vision now.
So maybe I should get appraisal.
But what does magic drain do.

Ash Magic is useless right now. And unless I save up for fire magic this skill does nothing to help me. I mean the name was self explanatory but I had to check it anyway.

The.
Hell.
Its health and armor stats are in the quadrillions. Of course.
Also it lost 60% of its health WITH automatic HP recovery.
So it may not be the strongest thing out there. I have a lot I can check inside those godlike stats. First I should check its species.

Wow.
I was getting scared I would get too strong. But I am still in the double digits. This "common" monster has 17 digit stats for Max HP and Armor. Both of us have low speed but it is still far faster than I am with its 1000 speed.
It looks like I am able to check Volconia.

Makes sense.
I checked the other skills and they were all self explanatory. They all did exactly as you would expect them to do. Indestructable shell makes its shell indestructable. Armor Piercing Chomp allows the hell tortoise to pierce armor and so on.
So not only am I in the unofficial Hell but I am inside of a giant tortoise monster. I guess the only way for us maggots to live out here is to be in the stomach of some giant monster and kill each other.
I guess I am safe for now but I am not sure how long till something bigger eats the hell tortoise I currently am in.
Also that big tortoise has appraisal. So it can see status. Thank God my status is too low for it to ignore. I guess the reason why they have these large ridiculous numbers is for species like the maggot to have small numbered stats.
I'm glad I finally got the challenge I expected.
Now that I have some sort of vision its about time for me to explore the body of this hell tortoise.
