Welcome Host

Zero's eyes opened to find himself once more laying in the hospital bed. A window appeared in Zero's vision.

-Notice-

Unique Ability-<Soul Displacement> has been used, sending you <2 hours> into the past.

-Notice-

Due to Unique Ability being used, Souls needed to activate has been increased.

Souls needed to activate Unique Ability (0/25)

Zero nearly cried as the required Souls to activate the ability rose by 5 times. When he thought about it, he realized it rose by five times on the last cast as well. 'Does that mean... It will cost 125 souls the next time I use it...' Zero shoved that thought to the back of his mind as he quickly stood from his bed while answering the call from his Grandmother. Zero knew he didn't have much time as he had let it ring multiple times as he was lost in thought.

Zero spoke before she could. "Grandma, monsters are coming. phones will die, hide. I will find you." His Grandma started to speak, only for the phone to die. 'Now to take care of the two... Goblins.' When Zero thought about it, he realized that the green monsters really did look like Goblins from the games people at school spoke about.

Zero picked up his backpack, as well as his clothes he hadn't noticed were sitting on the table by the window. Once he had everything, he quickly locked the door before making his way to the bathroom and repeating the steps he had taken before as well. Zero waited with his left pinky raised. First came the squawk from outside the window, before the banging on the rooms door. Zero waited in anticipation, before the bathroom door was broken down.

Without pause, Zero willed the whip to appear, only this time it wasn't outstretched, but rather it materialized and fell to the ground, connected to his pinky. The Goblin that was laying on the door only had enough time to look up as Zero flung his hand out in the way he had seen others online do it to produce the cracking sound. The whip followed Zero's action, aided by his intentions.

The whip flashed out, slicing the Goblin in two before flying and slicing into the second Goblin. Zero willed the whip to disappear and it did. To Zero's surprise, the Mana channels in his pinky weren't broken. Zero knew simply by the pain he felt in it however, that they were on the brink of breaking. 'So if I create the whip and cancel it fast enough, then I can recast it.'

Zero grabbed the two souls from the one on the door, before walking over and collecting one from the Goblin in the room. Zero took a second to grab the metal pole, finding the Goblin wasn't cut in two, but rather had a deep cut going from its left foot to the top of the skull. 'It wasn't cut in half? Even though the first one was, the second one wasn't?' The only thing Zero could think of to explain the difference was that the whip got weaker for some reason.

Zero shrugged before putting his clothes back on before heading out of the room. Without pause, Zero moved into the hallway before making a b-line for the hospital room he had hid in before. Zero was confused when ten minutes passed and he didn't hear any Goblins. 'Why aren't they repeating there previous pattern? The fact that the Goblin still busted down the bathroom door means they don't learn when I travel back in time.'

As he thought it, he realized why they weren't following the previous pattern. 'The one Goblin didn't escape. It must have notified the others and they came searching for me.' Zero sighed at the lost souls before standing and moving back down the hallway. He repeated the same process of saying he was human, and once more heard the girl.

"H-Help me, please!" Zero sighed before walking into the room with the metal pole in a guarded position. Similar to before, the girl stepped into the doorway, only this time, Zero acted before she could. Zero pointed his left pointer finger at the girls head and willed the Death Beam to appear.

The black beam shot out, killing the girl instantly while also breaking his fingers Mana Channels. Zero jumped out of the way as soon as he had cast the beam, incase the girl made the spikes in the last second. To Zero's relief, the blood on the ceiling simply dropped to the floor all at once. Zero stood up, checking his body to make sure he wasn't injured. When he wasn't, he sighed and walked towards the now singular dark grey shadow before grabbing it.

WELCOME HOST

Zero waited for another window to appear, however to his annoyance, the welcome host was the last one. 'It couldn't tell me anything else, seriously? Window, what are souls?'

-Notice-

Souls are the currency of the universe.

Zero staired at the window and thought about the meaning of its words. 'The universes currency? Can you describe how that will help me?'

-Notice-

Host will be able to use souls to purchase items such as armor, potions, weapons, abilities, and upgrades.

Zero was interested in the part about abilities, as well as the upgrades. 'Window, show me the upgrades and abilities I can purchase.'

-Notice-

Host does not currently have the authority to access the shop.

Zero would have rolled his eyes at the window if a familiar sound didn't sound from the doorway. "Gleguk!!" Zero turned to find a Goblin screaming at him from the doorway before it charged him.
