Chapter 21: Snake In The Grass
Kinsley’s POV
I fall off the back porch, thankful my father’s warriors weren’t bright enough to surround the place. Looking around the woods, I consider my next move carefully. If my dad had convinced Terron to return me, then I don’t think any move I make from here on out will be good enough.
Jonathan’s pack, Terron’s pack, and the rogues under Ace’s rule will all set their targets on my back.
I run straight into the dark woods, needing to hide and figure out my next move. A flicker of light hair startles me and I fall to the roots of a large pine tree, peering around the mossy bark to see Rebecca tip-toeing through the woods.
She’s headed right for me! I sink to the ground, feeling like Ace is back and trying to capture me again, but instead, a bubbly blonde girl in a miniskirt prances up beside me. She kneels in the grass, looking over her shoulder briefly.
