Chapter 04 - Salary and Arcade

Today was Sunday, and Fuutarou was at home, studying by himself. While he was studying, he unconsciously created lesson plans and techniques to teach the Quints. For Fuutarou, the feeling was foreign but not unwelcome. He smiled as memories of him teaching the Quints filled his mind. Teaching was new to him, but he enjoyed it nonetheless.

Raiha was playing with her toys. Although their family isn't what you would call rich, they manage to get by. The Uesugi household has a nice home; it consists of two bedrooms, one living room, one kitchen, and two bathrooms. Fuutarou was studying in the living room while keeping an eye on his younger sister. Even though Raiha could cook for herself and their family, Fuutarou kept an eye on her because she is still a child.

While Fuutarou was focused on his studies, the doorbell to their house suddenly rang. When Raiha heard the doorbell, she stood up and dashed towards the door. Fuutarou noticed Raiha and followed her. Raiha had already looked through the peephole and excitedly opened the door. Fuutarou considered scolding Raiha, but that thought disappeared as the visitor they had was Nino.

"Hello, Fuu-kun!" Nino greeted him.

"Nino? What are you doing here?" He asked.

"I was going to-" Nino attempted to finish her sentence, but Raiha interrupted her.

"Hello, Nino-san!" Raiha hugged Nino while smiling.

"Hello to you too, Raiha-chan." Nino greeted and hugged her back.

"Mmhm!" Raiha let out a cute squeal.

"Raiha..."

"Well Fuu-kun, can I come in?"

"Sure,"

"Here," Nino placed a small envelope on the desk, in front of Fuutarou. He opened the envelope and saw the contents. The envelope contained 50,000 yen. While it's not as big as his salary from his other job, it's still significant. He has already earned 50,000 yen after just two days of teaching; imagine how much he could earn in a week or a month if he continues at this rate. If he teaches five students per day, and each Quint is worth 5,000 yen. Multiply that by five since there are five students, and he would make 25,000 yen per day. Over a week, that's 125,000 yen, over a month, it's 500,000 yen, which is half a million yen, and over a year it's 6,000,000 yen.

"You worked really hard Onii-chan!" Raiha praises her big brother.

"It seems that we'll be together for a long time, Nino." Fuutarou faced Nino, with a slightly red face, backed away a bit.

"U-Un... Ah! You're probably thinking about the money, that's why you said that." Nino accused him.

"T-That's not true... Okay I might had my mind on that but it's true that I wanted to be together with you, you know." Since he didn't want to be hated by Nino, he quickly made an excuse, unknowingly letting his true feelings come out. And now we can see the damage it caused on Nino... Wow! It's super effective! With Fuutarou's last sentence, Nino's face was filled with red, just like a ripe tomato.

Fuutarou was confused as to why Nino suddenly turned into a blushing mess, but he quickly realized that it was because of what he said, and then he too, turned red.

"Onii-chan's flirting!" Raiha exclaimed and made the two blush even more... If that's even possible... I'm so jealous... Anyways.

Fuutarou changed the subject by asking Raiha where she wanted to go, to which she answered, "I want to go to the arcade!"

He had no problem taking Raiha out and told her to get ready. She stood up and went to her room. While Raiha was getting ready, Fuutarou asked Nino if she could come with them. She answered that she would love to join them since she had no plans for the day.

"Onii-chan! Let's try that next!" Raiha said as she ran towards the claw machine. One of the prizes inside the claw machine was a cute, fluffy stuffed bunny and a butterfly-shaped pillow.

"Raiha, slow down!" "Raiha-chan, wait for us!" Fuutarou and Nino sped up to catch up with Raiha. Neither of them were tired yet, but they couldn't keep up with Raiha's energetic attitude.

Fuutarou tried the machine but failed after three attempts. Fuutarou, who said he would go easy on the machine, got pissed. He used his knowledge and... I actually don't know what happened, but he ended up getting the bunny and butterfly pillow with one coin. I guess this is what they say "two prizes with one coin." Wait, no, it's actually "two birds with one stone"!

Fuutarou then gave the bunny to Raiha and the butterfly pillow to Nino. Raiha and Nino thanked Fuutarou and hugged their presents. Suddenly, a growl could be heard. It was Fuutarou's stomach. Fuutarou, Nino, and Raiha looked at each other and then laughed. The three went to a fast food restaurant nearby and ate there. Nino was the one who paid for the meal. Fuutarou insisted that he should but Nino said that it's a treat for him and Raiha since they invited her to the arcade with them.

After eating, the three went back to the arcade to continue the fun. And near the end, Raiha pulled Fuutarou and Nino into a photo booth and asked them for a picture together. Fuutarou and Nino agreed, and when it was time for the final shot, Nino mustered her courage and kissed Fuutarou on the cheek.

Fuutarou stood still as he felt Nino's soft lips on his cheek. Good thing that Nino was able to time the shot. Just as the photo was about to be taken, she kissed him on the cheek, and that's when the final shot was taken. So when the three took the photos, the soon-to-be couple's faces were bright red.

Fuutarou didn't know if it was a bug in the camera, but there were two copies of the photo in front of them. Fuutarou and Nino took one of the two copies and hid it.

Fuutarou then looked at Raiha, who was happily viewing the photos they had taken together. Fuutarou also smiled.

"Thank you for coming with us today, Nino."

"No need to thank me, I also enjoyed my time together with you."

"Onii-chan..."

"I'm not flirting Raiha..."

"No it's not that Onii-chan, I see four Nino-san over there!.."

"Four Nino?" Fuutarou muttered.

"Eh? Uesugi-kun?"

"Fuutarou-kun?"

"Who's that cute girl?! Is that your little sister, Uesugi-san?!"

"Yotsuba..."

1068 words. Im back. I wasn't chosen for the NAT test so I made this chapter. Im proud of this chapter because I barely used the reference to write. Also, I'm going to rewatch season 2 of QQ. I haven't actually watched the movie yet but I already read the manga. I've also heard that QQ season 3 will be streamed on july 14. It's not actually season 3 but some stories that wasn't able to be adapted on the movie.

I honestly think I'm getting better on writing. What are your thoughts?
