Chapter Seven: The Promising Future
Lysette traveled a great distance with Ally, they needed to get to Lysettes friends as quickly as possible so they could hopefully find a cure for what is wrong with Ally.
Though the Journey was quite rough, and they rarely ever stopped for breaks, Ally seemed very content with the ride. She knew that Lysette was only trying to help her and she had always felt the most safe with her. Her destiny, was to become Queen of the Lycans someday and whilst this role excited her to some extent, she vastly preferred spending time with Lysette without any responsibility whatsoever.
Her brother Gabriel was lucky in the sense that if Ally could handle the pressure, he wouldn't have to suffer the same fate as her. " So Gabriel is to marry a suitor? " Ally asked Lysette who seemed surprised that Ally was interested in such a topic as the old Wolf ran through the brush and darkened trees of a thick forest.
" Yes. Yes he is suppose to marry someone though I do not agree with it, even though it is tradition. However, since your discovery, that has thrown some chaos into the plans" Lysette answered.
" Because if I am the heir, then marriage to her wouldn't grant her any power..right? " Ally questioned and Lysette nodded in agreement.
" Yes, and obviously that family is upset about it. But that is more of a personal problem for them than anything else"
" But, if they were promised a right to the throne..isn't that a problem for everyone? " Ally questioned.
" Yes, but I'm going to assume that a suitor will come for you eventually as well even though, I feel that you should be allowed to make your own choices. Our people have several traditions that are completely outdated. But, Of course there will be a suitor that will come for you as well. They will have hopes of gaining power and uniting the Kingdom even though, to my knowledge, there are no suitors that are close to your age that you'd be able to marry someday" Lysette knew that the pickings of suitors was quite limited and this gave her hope that Ally would be left alone to make her own choices.
" But wouldn't they just marry off to another Kingdom? " Ally questioned, and Lysette relented, Ally had a good point.
" That is probably true however i'm going to find that it is unlikely. Though, The kingdoms are seeking to unify with one another, It is not that simple. Certain steps have to be taken in order to ensure that a unification of kingdoms can happen. Gabriel was also promised to marry a witch to unify the Lycan and Witch Kingdom. But that might not be happening either so, for the time being, we just have to see what happens. Nothing is certain for the time being. But I would imagine, that someday, you will take a mate and I hope that your mate is one of your choosing and not anyone else's" Lysette pleas.
" I don't want a suitor or marriage. It all sounds too complicated" Ally Sighs. " I believe that if we were going to unite kingdoms then marriage is probably not the way to go. We should just be kind to one another, and find a way to help one another..no debt and no obligation required" Ally was wise beyond her years and this made Lysette so proud though deep down, she knew that it would never be that simple despite how much she had hoped it would be.
" Well I hope that someday when you do end up taking this round, But you find a way to unite all the kingdoms in a different way. I hope that you become a leader, wise beyond anyone that has come before you so that the world, may finally know of peace"
Ally thought on these words for a long time, trying to decide what kind of Queen she would want to be as they finally pushed their way out of the forest and in to a giant clearing.
" Who are these friends of yours? " Ally questioned Lysette.
" They are some very old friends of mine. They were outcasted by the Kingdom of the Witches long ago for teaching the truth of the world" Lysette explained.
" Truth of the world? " Ally questioned.
" The Underworld, in which we live, has existed for a very long time. But it has also undergone several changes throughout its existence" Lysette breathes heavily, having ran for almost 50 miles without stopping.
" Changes? " Ally asks.
" Yes, it has changed quite a bit. This world is quite different than most. There is another world, called Earth. And that world, has one singular timeline, so no matter what you do, you can only go forward and backwards. But the Underworld, it has several. You can go forward, back, side to side, and each line is different with different variations of the world" Lysette continues to explain. " But all of these timelines are chaotic, usually because of bad people that exist within them. So to make this more simple. Earth has one timeline, if something goes wrong, you can only go forward or backwards. But here, there are tons of different ways you can go but it's all going to be bad no matter what" Lysette stops for a moment to catch her breath.
" Well then maybe we should just go to earth considering it seems way more simple" Ally expresses which got a chuckle from Lysette.
" Yeah, I've thought that too. This place is too much trouble " Lysette lays down on her belly, with Ally still clinging to her back.
" Maybe that could be the way I bring the world together? I could make the world of Earth and the Underworld work together.." Ally smiles.
" Maybe. But for right now, all we need to focus on, is making sure we get you healed" Lysette smiles.
" I know. And when I get stronger, I'm going to make this world less chaotic. I'm going to do everything I can to help this world and make it more like earth " Ally cheers happily.
" I know you will Kiddo..I know you will"
