The day had come to put the final touches on Ciara and Aeliana's wedding preparations, and excitement buzzed through the castle like an electric current.
I joined the others in the grand hall, where ribbons, flowers, and an assortment of elegant decorations were scattered in varying degrees of organised chaos.
The bustling servants moved around us, finalising decorations, while Ember and Ignis chased each other in a frenzied loop overhead, adding their own chaotic energy.
"So, Ciara," I began, watching her coordinate with one of her advisors on seating arrangements, "how are you feeling about it all? Nervous?"
Ciara scoffed, giving me an incredulous look. "Do I look like the type to get nervous, Lydia?"
Before I could reply, Aeliana, looking more relaxed than I'd ever seen her, slipped up beside Ciara, looping her arm through hers with a playful smile.
