The Princess's Dangerous Vampire Mate

"You are not human, like us, are you?" The words left my mouth in whispers as my eyes glanced around eyeing the destruction caused by the two men. Two men who had effectively taken out Twenty guards. All heavily armed and trained. But now, not even one old get up. "What gave that away?" My companion, who I had feelings for, mocked. "Perhaps the strength we displayed caused her to see reality," in the blink of an eye, he was in front of me making me stumble back in fear. "Is that not true, Princess?" I looked to the man who was silent and ever watchful. "Why? Why were you not true?" I loved him, only him I let myself feel for. He glanced around and spotted Diwal, my trusted advisor. "No one is true in nature here," he pointed to my advisor, "Not even him." Unwanted tears came to my eyes as I glanced around me. I could die tonight and it would all be in their hands. "Don't worry, your highness, it's just the time for it to come to light." My advisor smiled and so did the other two men. •••• A gentle yet cold bastard prince. The bulky, muscular King to be. conversations in a carriage - I

He held his hand out to me as he stepped head of the carriage door. Gemma and Marilyn carriage door had already been closed and now only we stood out.

I placed my hand in his and just as my skin touch has exhausted back against the current I felt. His eyes had a fleeting expression in them because as soon as it came he closed his eyes and looked away for a moment as I looked at my hand.

What was it?

He once again held out his hand and this time I placed my shaky hand in his. With his support, I climb into the carriage and sat in the far corner. He followed and to defeat opposite towards me closing the door behind him.

When anyone attends any kind of Royal gathering there are awkward moment and smiles passed which we were used to. Not everything could be talked with. But here, the silence was clawing at me and couldn't help but try to make a conversation.

"Are you a merchant?"

His eyes slowly turned at me and he slightly raised a brow. "I beg your pardon, Layla?"

"I said," I found it difficult to repeat what I have said earlier because he was looking directly into my eyes. "Are you a merchant?"

He smiled a little. Very little as it was just the corner of his lips twitching a bit. "Yes, you could say that."

"I could?" I chuckled softly. "if you are not a merchant, then what are you?"

Now, in his cold emotionless eyes, I saw amusement dancing. He was having fun as he talked to me. "I do sell, but it is what my people do."

Definitely the words of a leader whether king or not. "People? Are you a king or a tribal leader?"

He sighed and looked away. "I am someone you will get to know shortly. If that is, you would like to know me."

My eyebrows for a moment were raised as I was unable to conceal my shock. No one had ever talked to me like that even though I was a princess. A man whether a nobleman's son or the friends of another country had always asserted their rank on me so naturally, when a talk to me and asked for permission I was truly intruding into what he had.

"Yes, I would." I smiled, "But, what is it that we can find in common after all we are two individuals living in two different countries?"

He smiled now. His pearl white teeth flashed in my eyes as he said, "A lot, my lady. You would be surprised."
