Savannah walks the distance to the common room, where they had meetings and to discuss important things. She can't help but feel A little scared at what her parents wanted to talk to her about. she knew that her parents only ever called her like that when something important was going on.
The girl walks the whole way through thinking of all the possibilities all the things that might have been going on . The way her mother looked at her told her all she needed to know. She only ever looked at her like that when something important had to be addressed. The last time she found out that she had to be in charge of something and it didn't end well She didn't like having to be weighed down with so many responsibilities. Taking in a deep breath, she held onto her dress, a habit that he had long developed. Whatever she seemed to do, she couldn't get rid of it .
As she greets the guards they bow their heads in respect acknowledging her. 'There is no other way for it, it must be done like this' Her father shouts and as she enters the room she is startled at this . It was one of those things that you didn't see every day, their parents arguing. They loved each other so much that they always say that they will not let anything come between them. And yet here they are arguing about something. 'Savannah, there you are' the man says standing up from the chair he is sitting on.
He stands up nearing her as she walks further into the room. 'My daughter' he starts. 'Robin , I don't like this at all' her mother says standing up tears in her eyes. 'There is no better way to do this, Leanna we are doing this to protect her. This is the only way. Believe me I don't like this one bit but I don't have a choice'. He finishes a somber look on his face.
'Mother , father what is it?' the girl says barely able to keep her composure , all this is making he wonder what is going on. She is confused that no one has told her anything at this point. 'My child , come here. Sit down, there are some things that we must discuss' he says ushering her to sit on the chairs.
'What is it?' she asks. 'Well, Savannah, you know how you are to get marred soon?'.
'Yeah, I still haven't found someone that I think is good enough, I haven't found my prince yet' she says.
'We wanted to talk to you about that right now' he continues. 'Robin, don't do this I beg of you. If you do this….'
'Leanna, please we need to do this' the man says looking stressed out. 'I made a deal with the king and queen of Switzerland so you are to go there and marry their son. I now that it wouldn't be the most ideal for you but you must do it. The hands of our country relies on this'.
Savannah takes in the information she is being presented with and she is almost too stunned to speak. The prince of Switzerland had a reputation that wasn't the most ideal. He was known to be one of the most cruel and The king had 4 sons in all but he was the one who was in line to be the future king since he was the oldest.
There were stories of him throwing huge parties and getting drunk everyday so much that he was never sober. From morning till the evening, he had a glass in his hand. He never took anything seriously and was never there for any important meetings although he was the future king. Everyone knew that he slept around and wasn't too keen on the idea of marriage. He also used his servants as a form of entertainment, no one knows what goes on specifically but one could only guess. There were also stories of him killing innocent people for fun, just because he could and his father allowed it. Most of all if he ever found you walking around
'But father you can't do this to me' she cries out to her father. 'I'm afraid there is nothing more I can do'. It's all been done already'.
'What about Isabella, she is well suited to be his queen'.
'Your sister, she has already announced her wedding to Prince Isaac. Even then he specifically asked for you'.
Why would he do that she questions herself silently? 'You are to leave tomorrow at noon, so you can get a gist of the place and familiarize yourself with everything and get to know everyone there'. He further explains. Savannah wants to object and say that she doesn't want to go and that she wants to stay here and get more time to choose a better husband. But she knows that she can't do anything about it,, that her father's word is final, and that there is no convincing him otherwise.
It's a while later and savannah sits at the dining table across from her sister and her husband-to-be Prince Isaac and she bare to stand any more of them. 'Are you excited about the wedding' the mother asks while she chews on her food politely. 'I have already started planning everything, I want everything to be perfect' she excitedly says barely able to contain the joy all this brings her. 'I have waited my whole life for this day and I want it to be magical' she adds looking up. 'I can't wait either' Isaac speaks placing a soft kiss on her cheek.
'I know that it will be a perfect day , I keep imagining how you'll look and I can't wait because you'll look beautiful. I know it.
'Keep imagining it because you'll never get to see me before the wedding'. Savannah spaces out for a moment as she thinks about how anxious this all makes her. First, her sister is going to marry the love of her life and now she has to go off and marry a man that she doesn't like or even know for that matter. Rumors about him are nothing but accurate as anyone who has ever come across him says that they have experienced the same as everyone who knows him.
'Can we stop talking about your wedding for a second? Can we eat in peace without you having to throw it in my face? I get it that you are getting married but it's getting a little suffocating honestly' she breathes out after letting out.
'Honey can we not have any disagreements, why are you bringing a bad mood onto the table/ You should be happy for your sister' the mother scolds softly. Their mother was always the softer and more understanding one since she could remember. She could never raise her voice too high at them.
'She is mad that I am getting married, that it's about me' Isabelle says barely holding back.
