Chapter 4 : Speed O Sonic, And The Plot Of Rulers!

(AN : Let me give you a hint. Ether gets almost killed.)

It was a nice sunny day, I was meditating in Saitama's apartment. While Genos kept looking at me every 15 seconds, he was washing the dishes.

And once we got back from the house of evolution incident, Genos started taking my opinions in consideration as well. Not cutting of me in the middle of a sentence was the usual norm now..

Then, Genos also came with all his stuff to live with his sensei Saitama, though he had to pay rent. But, well, he got what he wanted, studying Saitama up close. While also giving me glances ever so often.

The TV as shown in canon, was showing the news about the B Class villains, Hammerhead and the others. They had destroyed a building just recently, the moment it reached the point where it was told, "If you see any bald man around, run away immediately. " Which angered Saitama and he went away saying he will crush them.

Well, I had placed a shadow in his shadow, to keep track of him. Though it looked like I was meditating, I wasn't doing that. I was seeing through my Shadow's eyesight, after a while, Saitama encountered Sonic who was trying to kill him.

Though, the katana broke after getting destroyed by Saitama's bite force. Then, the shuriken was caught, and the same thing, a punch to the balls, though not intended, the punch was there indeed.

Sonic, while holding his future descendants, was trembling. Saitama did apologize but Sonic went away. By the way, I sensed the abnormal speed he possessed, his full speed, could be compared to 1/3 of my current agility, which wasn't much shocking, seeing as how he belongs to the secret ninja village or whatever which was mentioned in the manga.

But, I wanted to also know how could he increase his speed... Did the founder of the village somehow come close to breaking the limiter? Just in a different way than Saitama? It was an interesting thought. By the way, I tried removing that limiter from myself, but it didn't work.

My body would quickly adapt to the training, thus I wasn't able to feel much hardships no matter, how much I squatted, ran, or did an incredible amount of push-ups.

Then, I tried adding on weight on myself, I bought weights from the local shops, and enhanced them through Tusk's magic, though, it still felt light. I was capable of lifting up-to around hundred millions of weight with a finger.

Yeah, that's how much my body adapted to my attempt of removing my limiter. But I guess, it's sort of removed already? After all, I can level up, can increase my stats without that as well, can adapt to harsh trainings.

Well, I would love to lift planets too one-day. Though, I am still further from that, I will reach it soon.

Anyways, I wanted Sonic as my shadow as well, but I thought of waiting till he reached his peak, can't have him get one punched and erased from existence.

"What the hell is that guy? I tried everything yet I lost? No, I didn't lose... Right?- Agh!? "

A slim young man is seen standing while his hands cover his head. His long black hair is tied up in a topknot, and bangs fall over his face. A noticeable feature of his is the purple marks underneath his large gray eyes. He is wearing a tight black latex bodysuit highlighted by metal plating on his shins, arms, shoulders, chest, and waist, as well as a long purple scarf that falls to his legs.

He screams due to the unbearable pain. His head stinging from pain, tears naturally flowing from his eyes. 'What is happening?' He thinks, but can't do so due to the pain.

...

After a moment or so, he removes his hands from his head. Then looks at them for a moment, opening it and closing it for few times. Then, smiles.

"I will be quick about this. Before the item's duration ends, it will all be over. " Saying so to himself, he starts dashing towards the exit of the forest, but in a specific direction, which leads to City Z.

"Hey Genos, why didn't you go with Saitama? " I ask while opening one of my eyes. "Ether-San, it's because Saitama sensei said he will do it alone. And another reason was that, I wanted to know how you are this strong. "

Oh? Well, I guess he would be curious after seeing that. "The answer is quite simple, I almost removed my limiter. "

!? "Limiter? What's that-Something is approaching! At high speed! " As Genos was about to satisfy his curiosity, he sensed something in his radar, and quickly took a fighting stance.

Huh? Why is Sonic coming here? I don't think Saitama led him here, as my Shadow is still in the forest. Wait, where's the other one which I placed on Sonic? And why could I only sense him once he was just outside the door!?

*Slash* Cutting the door apart, Sonic with a shining sword is seen. He's holding it in his right hand, without any delay, he dashes towards me, then with a swift movement, the sword almost reaches my neck.

*Clash* To only be stopped by Igris, *crack* the sword Igris was holding starts to crack up, breaking with ease, Sonic swings his sword at Igris, only to be met with air.

Genos, who was ready to blast Sonic away, was shocked to see the speed of the scenes taking place. At one moment a ninja enters the room with speed higher than a computer can detect, then strikes at Ether, but gets stopped by a knight, and in 1.73 seconds the sword the knight had, breaks.

And Ether vanishes from sight, along with the intruder.

What the hell is happening? Sonic wasn't this fast, he wasn't supposed to be this fast yet in the first place! I made Igris return to my Shadow as I didn't feel good about that bright and shiny sword. After all, my skin had got cuts, and weren't healing back.

Then, there's something which broke my connection with my shadows, and somehow, my body feels more heavier. [Sprint] . Using my running skill, I punched Sonic aiming at his exposed chin, only to be blocked by his sword, which burned my skin upon contact. Stepping back, I stumbled a bit, because Sonic was on offensive, quickly summoning my daggers-wait why can't I summon them!?

*Slash* F**k! My finger! He just cut my index finger! It's bleeding like hell, then there's this burning sensation. And this guy is faster than before! [Ruler's Authority ] !

Gripping the other building with my telekinesis skill, I leap over- *Slash* *Plop*

My.. .F**king LEG!?

...huh? What's happening outside? I can feel my Successor in pain.. That shouldn't be possible until he's fighting that bald guy or the other thing. Why is it.. Wait. I can sense life essence... HUH? WHAT'S THAT DOING HERE?

I am unable to contact him... And the shadow's connection towards him is being hindered too... But how? And why?

Is there no other way than this... Sighing to myself, I take a deep breath. A screen appears in front of me, clicking yes, it disapppears.

*Huff..* Did he lost track of me? I can't access to shop either. Neither the inventory. Though, I am able to use my skills. Excluding the job related ones. F**k, I am bleeding way too much, I should bandage it.

Though, there isn't any bandage here, other than rubble and some other useless stuff, there isn't much.

Huh? A stone and skill... Well, I seriously needed the stone thing, but what's with the hidden skill? Well, I guess, anything could be useful. Thinking so to myself, I click yes on the blue floating screen.

{Hidden Skill : [Death's Aura] is an active skill, as the name implies, an aura made from the essence of death will be summoned for you to use. With the ability of this skill, you are immune to death for as long you are using it then, an extra 2 minutes. Mana cost : 10000 Duration : 10 minutes. }

Immunity against Death? Damn, that seems pretty broken, but what's this Death essence? *Slash* *Gush* What the F**K!? MY ARM FLEW. IT FLEW!? Before I could react, a blade from behind pierced me, *Coughs blood* 'Use the hidden skill! ' I say so instinctively in my mind.

Hm? That was relatively easy? Wasn't he supposed to be the successor of Shadow Monarch? Guess, we all were exaggerating. With the use of the item's our creator left behind, killing him is an easy task.

While the Ruler inside Sonic was having these arrogant thoughts, Ether moved. Getting up on his both legs, one which was completely black and glowing in a violet hue. The same with his arm which wasn't there before. His eyes, showing a purple glow, brighter than ever, a thick aura in black oozing off him.

"Huh? How did you- " before the Ruler could finish his sentence, his head was bashed in the ground, creating a web-like crater. Then, he was showered with a barrage of heavy, but, quick fists. The Ruler trying to block his flow of attacks by covering his face with the [Half Of True Life Essence ] which the sword was made of.

Only, for it to break in pieces and turning black from white. The energy and aura, corrupting the sword. Even after that, his hits don't stop, but increasing in speed. Giving bruises and cuts all over the Ruler's face. After doing this for 15 seconds, Ether stopped.

Getting up, he covers his palm with extra aura, then gripping the Ruler's head, he separates the Ruler and Sonic. Once the Ruler was in his hands, he crushes it's neck with his grip. Killing the Ruler in process.

Ether disapppears along the traces of the Ruler he had killed. Leaving a Shadow soldier behind which is surprised as to how he came here.

Agh. Huh, I can feel my hand and leg again. They regenerated? Guess it's due to that blessing thing. Anyway, it seems like I am at my house. Hope nobody saw that happening.

...Somebody did see all of it happen.

Getting up, I head towards Saitama's house, ringing the door bell twice, I don't get an answer. Coming inside by swapping positions with my shadow which was inside, I look around. To find that both Genos and Saitama are nowhere to be seen.

*Ring*

Hearing the bell ringing, I hide using the Skill, [Stealth]. The door is broken, I find Sonic at the damaged door. He then turns around and leaves after seeing that no one was there.

What was he doing here? I turn off my skill, then, putting few shadows to work, I leave the place.

*🎶 I believe I can destroy the world. You should believe t- 🎶 *

Picking up the call, I jump from building to building, till I reach the roof.

"Is this the S Class, Ranked 14th Hero, Shadow Conqueror?"

That's my nickname now? Cool! I always wanted one.

"And if it is? Who are you? How did you get my number? "

"This is the Hero Association. If you could, then would you hurry to City B? A robot has been found, rampaging across. If not handled quickly, it will reach the City C, destroying it in process as well. "

"I understand, I will head there now. "

Hanging up, I call out Kaisel. Who's purple now. Climbing on top of him, I head towards City C.

"You think he will come? "

"Of course he will! Even if the call looked fake, there's no way an arrogant guy like him will ignore this. "

Two people were conversing with each other, one of them being a kid with circle glasses, the other wearing a mask to cover his face.

"Well, sorry to intrude in your conversation. May I ask what were you planning to do, in this bunker? "

A figure just above them, sitting on metal pipe asks with a curious voice. He is wearing an overcoat which is black, inside there's a purple shirt, then below he is wearing a cargo jeans which is violet and fixed to his waist with the help of belt.

"What the-how did you get in!? "

"Tusk."

A large orc with glowing red skin and glowing blue eyes. He wears a long black hooded cloak and a necklace of skulls. Comes out of Ether's shadow.

Both the people who were conversing a minute ago, fall to the ground due to an invisible force.

"Answer my questions and I won't kill you both. "

"W-we just wanted the Shadow Conqueror's auto graph! "

..wait what? I can detect his soul's aura... He doesn't seem to be lying.

Continuing, he again speaks.

"We don't know what's your relationship with him! And we didn't have any ill intentions towards him! Please don't kill us! "

Damn, this kid has a drama type voice. Well, I didn't know I had fans. Guess, I will give them what they want.

With a snap of fingers, Tusk removes gravitation from both of them, letting their bodies move again. And returns back to his leige's shadow.

Getting down from the high position, I tell them I am the one they are looking for. But, they didn't believe me till I showed them my call history.

After that they asked me many questions, as to how I summon those shadows, can I breath in space, am I Satan. And some other things. As they were my first fans, I answered their questions and gave them a signature.

"You saved our mother, we will eternally be grateful for that! "

Mother? What are they talking about? Was it one of those incidents at night, when the alien like thing was trying to eat everyone in range? Or was it when, I was killing the mutated rat? Well, my memory seems pretty rusty after the incident of fighting that angelic being, which doesn't suit it now.

The moment I encounter another one of them, I will cut them into peices.

Saying goodbye after giving them a selfie together, I got on Kaisel, and flew away.

Once I returned, I found that Saitama and Genos indeed went away to get the hero test. As it was in canon, Saitama and Genos both had the same Classes and Ranks.

Afterwards, Saitama asked me about what happened three days ago, telling him a fake story, after eating a dinner which I don't require, I went to my 'house'.

But, as I didn't feel like sleeping, I went out to patrol at night, showing my appearance often along my shadows, from stopping to small and petty crimes, to killing Demon/Tiger level monsters.

And like that, it was morning.
