The Pond that Absorbed Me

I wish this story had more readers, cuz the ML is hilariously self- devastating jerk on a survival mission with gorgeous company he doesn’t care about. They shared constellations earlier, but now light-years separated their ‘whispered’ wishes… *** In a moment of unforeseen Fate, a young man reaches into the icy waters, but with a sudden, forceful pull, he is drawn into its depths. Now shrouded in the Darkness he endures his imprisonment there. “Reconnecting with an old friend is like finding a lost jade—if only it were worth the trouble.” Xiǎo Fù, The Servant. *** Meanwhile, in the secluded monastery the Great Master’s rage ignites when his servant vanishes. Four days of torment, anger, and longing leave every monk wishing for their own end… until an unexpected visitor comes. “Your Stupidity is the Yin to Wisdom’s Yang. Keeps the balance, you know.” Xījiǎo Yùshén, The Water Master. *** At this very time, the Prince suffers distress by the grief of loss, spending his days in drunken mourning in order to dull the pain. He doesn't have any desire to cling to life anymore, but being immortal, he cannot just die. “Eternity? Like waiting for a thousand cherry blossoms to bloom—one by one.” Mùnchén, The Second Prince. *** Forbidden practices, Heavenly secrets, Fate’s defiance and the Realms on the brink of War. As well as Curse, Scheming, Sacrifice and Punishment that turns God into Wandering Spirit, and Spirit into only Heavenly Heir. Sarcasm on the edge of torture, both evoke the bittersweet ache of missed encounters and unfulfilled destinies. *** THE LEGEND In a world where Realms are connected, there's an old tale—a Legend that whispers of Balance and hidden Powers. According to this lore, all Realms share a common origin, and their Fates are intertwined. Realms are destined to coexist as one. Here, no hierarchy prevails—no masters, no slaves. Instead, Realms harmonize, their existence interwoven threads. Should the Balance falter, Chaos looms, and the Abyss threatens to swallow everything. Yet, when the Abyss fully absorbs the Realms, the Celestial Source establishes a new Cycle of Life, and brings new Realms to coexist. But even if the Abyss is undeniable, a hope remains, for within the same Source that birthed the Abyss lies an indomitable Force—a Guardian, the One, born to confront, combat, and seal it. Thus, the current Realms gain their chance at survival. *** PS This story was planned long ago, but life is life, so I only decided to share it within online community now. PLANNING.

As soon as the Prince calmed down they both returned to his chambers. Now, as the Adviser was serving tea, they continued their talk without prying eyes.

"I don't think we can find the Mirrors' Caster easily, if you plan to," he said, handing the full cup to the Prince.

"Probably not... I assume, most likely we won't find him at all, especially if my Father hid him the same way he did with the Wind Master…"

The Prince took a sip of tea, sadness etching his face.

"I thought I'd never see my so called Brother again, and I had no desire to endure my existence any longer... but if He's truly alive, then I…" The Prince fell silent, focusing on his tea.

"But Your Highness," the Adviser continued, "I believe I know where the Wind Master might be."

The Prince's reaction was explosive. He jumped, overturning the small tea table, shattering dishes, and scalding his hand with boiling water.

"You don't take care of yourself at all!"

The Adviser chided, blowing on the Prince's hand to heal the burn instantly, but the Prince pulled his hand out and started pacing back and forth. When his emotions frayed a bit, he turned to Adviser.

"What did you just say? Repeat it, Lao Jun!"

"I'm saying I can likely guess where the Wind Master might be. But why such a reaction?"

The fury in the Prince's eyes said it all. The Adviser, bewildered, immediatly dropped to his knees.

"Your Highness, your faithful slave is ignorant. Teach me—I don't grasp the importance of this information."

The Prince helped him up dragging by the elbow.

"Get up and tell me quickly where this sly guy is hiding."

The Adviser rose, returning to the broken dishes. He blew on them, same way he had performed earlier over the burned Prince's hand, and suddenly the scattered parts flew into the air, reassembling the table. The Prince sat down, pointing at the teapot. The Adviser refilled the cup and handed it to the Prince.

"According to the latest reports, the Wind Master was in the mortal world, same goes for the Water Master. The Emperor punished them, sending one to guard the rift between worlds, alongside the Darkness and the other one to watch over the Flower Goddess, who is supposed to be on the cultivation reborn there."

Prince sighed, just pointed at the teapot again.

"The Water Master and the Wind Master aren't together, as you might get," the Adviser continued. "And I don't know who guards the rift and who watches over the Goddess."

"Amazing!" The Prince exclaimed, placing the cup on the table, which promptly fell apart again.

"But let me ask, Your Highness, why is the Wind Master important to you? And why did you think we couldn't find him?"

"Well, this isn't your first day in heaven, is it?" the Prince frowed.

"Didn't you know the Wind Master was the only one my Brother communicated with here, besides me? Even though I annoyed him all the time, I suppose He still stayed close to the Wind Master more."

The Adviser's realization dawned quietly: "How interesting. I didn't know. Now it explains a lot… So, if we find the Wind Master, there is a chance he can help us."

The Prince snapped his fingers, refocusing the Adviser, who immediatly asked, "You'd like to visit the Wind Master in the mortal world?"

The Prince nodded, taking another sip of tea.

"And since the Emperor is in meditation, you obviously don't plan to ask His permission to descend?"

The Peince nodded again.
