Chapter 59

I found myself back at the secret society's base upon finding an envelope on my bed with a note about a meeting. Gene was still out of the house by the time I snuck out, so I didn't have trouble going to the city undetected by people from Aqua Chrysalis.

I rode the elevator with a masked person, probably a member of the society. We didn't speak at all during the whole ride up. He left the elevator first and immediately went off to greet his friends who were waiting for him in the lounge.

Auriel was at the bar talking to the wolf-masked man who tried to kill me before. When they both noticed me, Auriel stood up and led me to the inner room, Mr. White's office.

Mr. White was pleased to see us both enter.

"Welcome back to the society, Miss Peony. I'm quite excited to see how well you can execute this new mission. For your first job together, I want you to infiltrate the head office of the pharmaceutical company Materia."

I immediately recognized the name.
