Chapter 56

I first met Gene inside the MMORPG Valhalla. He played as a mage with healing abilities, while I was a knight. He was already part of one of the most powerful guilds in the game. I, on the other hand, remained a solo player.

One day, I met his guild's leader, Vladimir, in town singing musicals by the fountain. I joined in the singing and ended up becoming good friends with him. It wasn't long before he invited me to join his party for a dungeon.

There were four of us in the party: me, Vladimir, Gene, and their drunk friend Shawn. They were all from the same guild.

"Heh. Women. They're dangerous," Shawn said right after I was introduced to the group.

"Shawn is always drunk. Don't mind him," Vladimir said with a laugh.

Gene remained silent during the whole duration of our dungeon run before Vladimir suddenly disconnected.

"I guess we wait for him to reconnect," I said.

Gene nodded. "Yeah."
