Hearing his teasing comment, Eri blushed even more and lightly hit his arm.
"Ah!" Liam exaggerated his reaction, making it seem like her light slap had hurt him immensely.
Feeling guilty, Eri moved closer to him and checked on him, asking in a concerned tone, "Does it really hurt?"
"Hm? Ah, I was kidding though?"
"Hm! You meanie!!" Annoyed at his antics, she started pinching his arm.
"Ah! It really hurts now!"
"Ya! Whatever! It should hurt."
"Alright, I am sorry. Get on, or we'll be late for the lectures." Liam handed her a spare helmet from the rear seat.
During all this playful drama, even before Liam had arrived, Eri had been the center of attention. She was a stark contrast from her appearance yesterday. In a beautiful floral dress that accentuated her figure, she looked like a celebrity.
Many men were considering approaching her, and some even tried, only to be turned down as she mentioned she was waiting for her boyfriend. Now that Liam had arrived, they all conceded defeat and accepted their losses.
"Truly celebrities."
"Seems her boyfriend is handsome and wealthy."
"Ah, the world is not fair."
"I also deserve a cute girlfriend like her."
Unaware of the comments swirling around them, Eri and Liam continued their banter and headed to the university.
Liam and Eri entered Naroh University, a well-known and prestigious institution that had an outward appearance of excellence but was plagued by corruption beneath the surface, much like many institutions of its kind.
After parking the bike in the university parking lot, they walked towards the lecture hall.
"Who are those two? I've never seen them before."
"Did they transfer here?"
"Are you crazy? Transferring in the middle of the semester?"
"Then what do you think?"
"Whatever, I don't really care... I just want a rich boyfriend like him, and he's so handsome. Although he's a bit skinny, I'll make him healthy with my nutritious food!"
"Do you even know how to cook anything other than junk?"
"What did you say?"
"Well, the girl is cute, though."
"Yeah? Then don't talk to me from now on! Hmph!"
"Babe~!"
Amidst the chatter and comments, the duo remained unaware of the discussions swirling around them as they continued towards the lecture hall.
*
The sound of chatter filled the lecture hall as Liam and Eri entered, drawing the attention of their fellow students. Eri appeared embarrassed by the sudden spotlight, while Liam walked with an air of nonchalance.
Choosing a back seat for some privacy, Liam led Eri to the chosen spot. Meanwhile, discussions erupted among the students, as many recognized the pair from somewhere but struggled to place them.
As Liam approached the back of the hall, he noticed a guy sitting there with his girlfriend. The guy exuded an aura of toughness, while his girlfriend seemed to embody a more artificial, plastic image. Ignoring them, Liam went around and settled in the next seat, with Eri following suit.
"Hey, big boy~ Don't you see I'm here? This whole place is mine. Go sit with your bitch in—"
BAAM
The guy's chair gave way, making him crash down. Liam had kicked the leg of the chair, causing it to break and the guy to fall. Liam remained unfazed, clearly not caring about the commotion he had caused. And slightly tapped the guy's cheeks. "You don't talk like that to us."
When the guy insulted Eri, Liam took action by breaking his chair.
Liam's comment was delivered calmly as he sat with Eri, reassuring her amidst the chaos that had unfolded.
The guy rose to his feet, his expression menacing as he approached Liam. His girlfriend seemed to cheer him on from the sidelines. His massive frame cast a shadow over Liam as he stared him down. Just as the situation was about to escalate into violence, the professor entered the lecture hall with a stern inquiry: "What's going on in the back!?"
A frustrated click of the tongue escaped the big guy's mouth. He shot one final glare at Liam before retreating to another seat, his girlfriend following suit. The professor's timely entrance had defused the tension, at least for the moment.
"Did you really need to do that?" Eri asked in a concerned voice.
"Hm? Are you talking about that guy?" Liam replied.
"Yeah."
"Should I have not assaulted him?" Liam asked Eri.
"Yeah."
"But he tried to insult you, though."
"But-"
Seeing Eri concerned about the trivial matter, Liam grabbed her hand and said, "Eri, when you forgive people who have actually hurt you without reprimanding them, they generally take it for granted and will try to take advantage of you. So, the best way is to stand up for yourself and fuck them over real bad... and the worst is yet to come." Liam said the last words as he looked towards the young guy throwing glares at them.
"Is Liam not here?" Suddenly, the professor's voice reached Liam and Eri.
"Yes, Professor, he is here," Eri said loudly, raising her hand.
"Hm? Where? I don't see him. And are you two from our department? I've never seen you two. Are you new?" the professor inquired as he examined the young people.
"No, Professor. Um... I'm Eri, and he is Liam," she said, motioning her hands to point towards Liam.
"What-" The whole class was taken aback.
But as they began to look more closely, they realized that they truly looked like them!
Murmurs began to fill the classroom.
"What happened to them?"
"Was he always so hot?"
"Wow, Eri is truly beautiful!"
"She looks like a goddess!"
"Should I ask her on a date?"
"Duffer! Don't you see both of them are clearly dating?"
"Even if he's handsome, isn't he Liam?"
As the class continued to gossip and murmur, they started snickering and laughing at them. All the while, the guy whose chair was broken by Liam had eyes bloodshot with anger, seething with fury!
He was just humiliated by that PUNY LIAM!!!!
