Trouble In The Academy

The next day, Shiro prepared to head out again with Lydia, it was announced the day before that a lecture was going to take place so he needed to be there.

Lydia also had things she needed to do, she had missed days of work due to the special assignment given to her to monitor Shiro's well being. She had watched and monitored everything Shiro did but at the end of it all there was nothing to report.

Seeing that nothing was wrong with him, the higher ups who had given her the task gave her the order to return directly ending her stay with Shiro.

Lydia and Shiro got dressed as they both prepared to leave the apartment, they ate breakfast and proceeded to tidying up the house before leaving.

Once they had left the apartment, Lydia asked Shiro if he could make his way to the lecture, she had other duties to attend to so she could not accompany him this time.

"Don't worry, I can manage"

Shiro said with a slight barely noticeable smile. Lydia looked at Shiro, she felt like she could not just leave him to go on his own.

'What to do?'

Right when she was deciding on what to do, she heard Naomi's voice and it sounded like she was heading towards them.

Naomi had gone around the academy after separating from Shiro looking for a way she could use to get Shiro's home address, she knew that Shiro was blind and she doubted that Lydia would be always less busy so she decided that she would be the one to help Shiro when needed.

She was just on her way to confirm the position of his house after she got it through her connections the day before when she saw the two coming out, she decided to help Shiro get to their lecture hall since she was already on her way there.

"Hey!"

She called out as she moved closer to the two.

"Oh, Naomi how are you?"

Lydia greeted after hearing Naomi's voice, she then looked at Shiro before continuing... or so she tried to do but was interrupted by Naomi.

"Hmm? No greeting from you even when I took my precious time yesterday to find the location of your home? How cruel"

She teased as she poked her fingers at Shiro and dragged his cheeks, she couldn't help herself, for her teasing Shiro was something she could not get enough of.

"Stop that"

Shiro said when he felt like he had had enough, he wasn't angry but that kind of direct teasing could easily irritate anyone.

"Huh? Are you referring to me?"

The way Naomi asked her questions sent chills down Shiro's spine, it was more of a threat than a question.

Shiro kept quiet, for some reason he was beginning to fear Naomi.

"Ehm Naomi?"

Lydia called out to Naomi, she had no idea why Shiro who was obviously stronger than Naomi would fear her.

"Can you please help me get Shiro to class?"

"Sure..., only if he greets me"

Naomi replied while looking at Shiro to see his reaction.

Nothing, Shiro said nothing, the fact that she asked for him to greet her didn't even face him. He already had the landscape of the entire academy registered in his head so getting to the lecture hall was not something difficult for him.

"No need, I already know the way"

Shiro answered before walking away, he didn't want to waste anymore time with pointless chatting and arguments.

Naomi looked at Shiro walk away, the teasing smile she once had on her face was now gone.

"Later Miss Lydia, I will make sure he gets to class safely"

She said before chasing after Shiro.

'Did I make him angry?'

Naomi asked herself as she jogged a little to catch up to his walking speed.

Shiro continued walking, in his mind was the academy projected in the three dimensional form which he used as a guide to get to the lecture hall. After walking a few distances, he felt a soft pair of fingers intertwine with his own, he faced the owner of the arm which his martial awareness revealed to be Naomi.

"What do you want?"

Shiro asked using his indifferent tone, he was already in a hurry to get to the lecture hall, he didn't want to miss a single class since this was what could aid him get stronger in the future.

"I am sorry if what I said back there annoyed you"

Naomi apologized as she bowed her head to show she was sorry, she hadn't expected Shiro to react the way he did.

"There's nothing there, let's go before we end up missing the lecture"

Shiro said as he increased his speed of walking, the two walked silently to the lecture hall.

They were able to arrive before the lecturer so the environment was a little noisy, students were loittering and chatting happily while waiting for their lecturer.

Shiro and Naomi entered the noisy environment and looked for a seat, Naomi led Shiro to a place where the two of them could seat together.

Their seat was located at the far end of the long hall but that didn't mean that those at the front would be able to hear the lecturer more.

Shiro sat down and rested his head when he heard the sound of someone seating beside him, he scanned the seat and was surprised to see that it was not Naomi but a boy who looked to be around the same age as her.

The boy looked at Shiro with a viscious smile before slamming his hands loudly on Shiro's desk.

"I heard that you came from the cursed selection zone, what are you doing here now, aren't you guys on a one week break?"

Shiro didn't respond, he didn't think that it was worth it to respond to such a person. Seeing that his first strategy failed, the boy continued speaking trying his best to provocate Shiro.

"I heard that two of the students were attacked during the test which led to the remaining exams being cancelled"

"I also heard that one of them turned into such a hideous monster as befitting for commoners"

Hearing the provocations Shiro remained calm, although he had not responded, Naomi could see that one more word and Shiro would attack this guy.

"Why don't you stop? They were attacked and their exam got canceled, it was not their fault"

Naomi said trying to defend Shiro, however, all she received was a harsh comeback.

"Why are you supporting those commoners, it's not like their lives are worth much, they are even lucky that twenty of them were able to survive"

Shiro got up, his martial awareness drifted towards the guy as his sword followed after. He was now angry.
