Leaving Veda

Sitting on the bed in his room, Sky was increasing the strength of his magic by focusing on it as it flowed through his body – the way they had been taught as third year students.

It had not been more than three months since Sky, along with the other current third year students, had obtained his magic but the progress he had made was astonishing.

At the moment he was very confident that he could fight and kill a three-tailed wert on his own. An enhanced ranked beast would not give him much trouble either.

His very rare magical ability which gave him control over time and some form of magnetism was getting stronger everyday as he focused on his magic and made it go to every single part of his body.

Ever since the werts attacked the world penitentiary in Thradon a couple days ago, Sky had just one thought occupying his mind – get stronger.

Jake was missing. Again. And according to Anna, his disappearance was through unconventional means. What that means for sure was unknown to Sky but he was certain of one thing, he needed to get stronger if he was to attempt to search for Jake again.

Jake could never be mistaken for someone who was weak and for anyone to possibly kidnap him, that person would need to have a certain level of strength as well.

Of course, with the war going on and all the battles that happened from time to time, schools had been shut down but Sky and a few others were still being trained by Anna.

Seeing the monarch fight the way he did in Thradon, Sky was left wondering if he could ever be as strong as that. To be able to take on a six-tailed wert and still be standing at the end of the encounter.

'I just need to focus.' Sky thought to himself as he opened his eyes and got down from his bed.

He pushed himself harder each time he trained with Anna but Anna also insisted on teaching them the coursework, not just the practical.

She wasn't always available because as a monarch's daughter and as someone who had just as much strength as a general, she was needed in the war.

But she was free today and Sky planned to ask her a question that he had been thinking about for a while.

Sky got ready to go out then went downstairs. His dad, Andrea, was in the living room watching the news on the TV. The prisoners who had escaped from the world penitentiary had begun causing commotion immediately – terrorising the citizens, damaging properties and so on.

They had somewhat made an encampment at the outskirts of the Gyllen district and they had become a menace to people living there so much so that some began moving away, searching for new options.

"When will the soldiers take care of them once and for all?" Sky asked, watching the news for a bit.

"They're trying Sky." Andrea replied. "They really are but those prisoners aren't your average prisoners. Some of them might be as strong as a general."

"But the army has commanders and monarchs." Sky said. "Monarchs would definitely make quick work of generals."

"I'm just speculating Sky. I don't know for sure." Andrea responded, turning back to look at Sky. "Are you meeting up with Anna today?"

"Yeah I am." Sky answered. "Preferably we're gonna do some more training, but she might try to teach me school stuff, who knows."

"Just make sure you don't stay out late. If not I'll come get you myself."

"Alright Dad. And I'm not the only one who's gonna be there. People still wanna know how to defend themselves you know."

"All I'm saying is come back safely." Andrea said then stood up to give Sky a hug.

"Always." Sky replied while returning the hug, then leaving after that.

Turning back to the TV which still had the news on, the sadness Andrea felt was evident by looking at face.

"Where are you Jake?" he asked out loud. Heading to his study, he stared straight into the device by the door and waited for his retina to be scanned before the door opened.

Walking in to the study, he did not seem to know exactly what he wanted. He went to the edge of the room that was the farthest away from the door and pushed a part of it in which made way to a dark and small opening.

He put his hand in and touched around, obviously searching for something and when he felt it, he picked it up and pulled his hand back out.

In his right hand, Andrea was currently holding what looked like a small knife with a black blade but when he took it to a ray of sunlight that was shining into his study, it suddenly elongated.

The black colour of the blade began to shine brighter and the ray of sunlight also increased in intensity. Like the weapon was attracting more sunlight to itself.

When Andrea took it out of the sunlight, it reverted back into a small knife and he put it in the pocket of his jacket.

"I'm not going to stay there for a long time." he told himself. "I'm just going to talk and see if they know anything. I left there years ago and I'm not looking forward to going back but I have to do this. For Jake."

Closing the opening then leaving his study and making sure it was locked, Andrea went outside to his car and got in.

Sitting there for a bit as if contemplating what he was about to do, he touched the pocket he had kept the small knife in to be sure then he started the glist and drove away.

Andrea drove outside the Ansteria district and into a small forest with huge trees before he stopped the glist in a slightly hidden area and got down to walk on foot.

He walked for a couple of minutes before he saw the very well hidden symbol at the bottom of a specific tree's trunk. He would not have noticed it if he didn't know what he was looking for and where to look for it.

Moving towards the symbol on the trunk, Andrea got down and brought out the small knife in his jacket pocket.

The moment it was exposed to the sunlight it elongated with its blade shining brighter and the sunlight around it also shining brighter.

Andrea used it to touch the symbol and the symbol began filling up with white energy. When the symbol was filled with white energy, the knife which was now a long black sword, turned into energy particles and the same happened to Andrea's whole body.

The energy particles went into the symbol and on the other side, they were joining back together to form Andrea and the black sword.

Andrea was now on the planet of the Melynxs – obviously no longer on Veda.
