4.3 Change
The three of us just walked around the field like a bunch of little kids horsing around when their mothers left them in a playground. Most of the students are staring at me because I have students right here by my side. The outcasted perverted freak actually has friends.
“Hey…! Let’s try this!” Lea pointed at a booth with fake guns and stuffed toys.
“Want to try it, Alex?” Lea offered the plastic gun. I just put my hands in my pockets and declined, I’m not really good at firing.
“How about you Austin?” Austin took the gun and pulled out his money, paid a turn, and started to point at the target.
“So…What do you want? Stuffed toy?” Austin asked Lea who is at her side.
“The chocolate chip cookies! There!” Lea exclaimed.
“Wait…for the past 20 minutes who’ve been eating ice cream and cotton candy…aren’t you full?”
“So…What…? Just do it…!” Austin stared at Lea.
“Aren’t you worried you might get fat…?” Wow, Austin that was straightforward of you…and there it goes…
“Ouch! Ow! Ow! Okay! Okay! Stop…!” Lea pinched Austin’s ear and twisted it like a piece of gum.
“Austin too rude!” Lea blurted, Austin fixed himself and started shooting at the packed cookies. He’s actually pretty good at shooting…does he train or something?
“He got it! Wow!” Lea’s excitement, while Austin handed the cookies, was adorable. The clerk who was in the booth was collecting his jaw because of Austin.
“Never knew you could be that good…” Austin suddenly got close.
“I’m a secret assassin…” Austin whispered then laughed. I giggled and he patted my shoulder and we decided to explore the booths in our building. Horror booths, café’, theaters, puzzle rooms, escape rooms, and many others.
“Hey! Let’s go here later!” Lea pointed to the horror booth beside us. But… now way I’m getting in there. Lea saw my face and smirked.
“Heh…? You scared?” Austin and Lea stared at me while my body stiffened.
“A…A little…” Lea pulled me close to the skeleton beside the entrance door. Then I accidentally knocked it down, some students inside came running out and took it up, then two girls stared at me.
“Hey…! Perverted freak….! Can you go someplace else? You're ruining our booth here…!” She folded her eyebrow and started pointing at my chest.
“Hey…He didn’t mean it…You don’t have to insult him that way…” Lea went in front of me. “And besides…you shouldn’t talk with your seniors like that…We’re second years after all and it’s rude…” Lea added then crossed her arms.
The girl didn’t appear to be afraid and yet she still gave Lea that unnerving look.
“Don’t be stupid…He’s the perverted picture taker from last school year…Everyone knows that he shouldn’t be respected for what he did. And besides shouldn’t you be on duty rather than horsing around Senior…” Lea didn’t talk back, Austin tapped Lea’s shoulder that we should go because a lot of visitors and students are starring at us.
“I’m sorry for the trouble…” Lea offered her hand, but the girl refused.
“Shake my hand if you know how to find someone…” Then she stared at me. “More…Civil” The three of us walked away in silence.
“I’m sorry for the trouble I’ve caused…” I murmured.
“No! No! Don’t say sorry! It’s all on me! I pushed you…!” Lea exclaimed while patting my back hard.
“Are you okay with these guys? I’m just trouble…every time I encounter people, they just push me away including you guys…” A pain at the top of my head rushed. I was like being hammered by Thor’s weapon.
“Don’t say that…” Austin put his hands in his pocket. “Do you think I care? You made a mistake…that’s that…you can’t turn back time and fix it…and nobody is perfect… A lot of people make mistakes all the time. Just live your life to the fullest…and be a better person…”
“Th-Thanks…” I couldn’t say a single word.
“What…Are you crying?!” Lea made me face him, holding both my shoulders.
“Wha!? Hey dude did I say something wrong hey…!” with a worried tone Austin exclaimed.
“No…! No…! I’m just glad…Thanks for putting up with me guys…it’s been a long while…since a had like this…I actually have a group of friends to call”
“AWWWW!” Lea patted my back hard…Again “Your so cute and sweet!” She then hugged me tightly while going downstairs.
“Hey! Where the heck you guys been!?” Hana was right in front of us gasping for air.
“Oh sorry…Why are you out of breath? Is everything okay?” Lea said.
“Your adviser wants to see you…you need to go with her” Wait why would they call me? I thought the issue was done…many moons ago…
“Why…?” Hana stared at me with a worried look.
“The head chief wants to see you” The three of us couldn’t collect our jaws after Hana said those words. What is it? Why would they want to see me…? I thought it’s all settled.
“I’ll bring you to your adviser she’s at the prof’s lounge outside right now…” Austin and Lea gave me a worried look as Hana guided me to my teacher. What is this all about? I tugged Hana’s back while following her.
“What is this all about?” I asked her, Hana didn’t look back.
“you’ll know it when the chief…” then she averted her gaze and just walked until we arrived at the professor’s lounge where I saw my teacher looking at us from afar.
“Thanks, Hana, for bringing him…” My teacher closed her book. “Now shall we young man?” She signaled Hana that everything is okay now and we started to walk towards the headmaster’s office. After a long walk passing all the students who are busy with the booth opening. We both stood still at a big wooden door.
“Here’s my stop I’ll be waiting for you here…” She then patted my shoulder and gave me an encouraging look. “You’ll be fine…” My teacher smiled. I nodded, turned around, and opened the huge door in front of me.
“Mr. Alex please, take a seat…” A very formal man seating on a black recliner, wearing a tux smiled at me.
“Tea? Coffee? Perhaps? Chocolate?” I sat down and respectfully declined.
“I’ll make it quick and simple for you…young man…” He then pulled out his laptop under his desk drawer and showed me something.
“This is you right?” The camera footage shows that me…beating up two grown men attempting to rape a student.
“So…This is you right?” The light from his glasses shimmered. I nodded.
“The police contacted us that a student. Actually, beat up, broke a guy’s arm like a twig. Then walked out like it was nothing…” I didn’t answer nor look.
“I’m glad that you save a student in helping but, our school will face major changes because of what happened. I’m in contact with the police and they advised that we can’t let this issue out for the safety of our school…” Still I didn’t answer.
“…The thing is, you can’t tell anyone about it…this case is closed if you do…I have no choice but to kick you out of this school…”
“Wait…I just save a student from being harmed…And why are you keeping this a secret?”
“But you injured them both…The other guy can’t use his left arm anymore…and the other is in a coma…do you realize what you did? Because of your actions again…the school is in on another huge issue again!” He exclaimed and stood up.
I get…This is not about the student’s safety…It’s about his reputation as the Chief of this school nothing more…
“do you see it now? No matter what you do…you’ll never be appreciated for what you did…these people don’t care about people like you…they only care about themselves, nothing more…” My head started to ache again… That deep demonic voice once again…
“I will add new school rules next week…As I have said in the opening ceremony an hour ago…You do realize that’s because of you…” He sat in his chair again. “Just be grateful that I’m still keeping you in this school…So, all you have to do is not to speak of the issue again”
“Y-Yes…Sir…”
“Good…I’ll see you around…Mr. Alex”
I stood up and walk out not looking back. My teacher was in front of me after I went out.
“So…How did it go?” With a worried tone, she replied.
“N-Nothing…He just asked me what am I doing lately you know…After…What happened” My teacher sighed.
“…Are you doing okay…? I know some students here are bullying you…”
“Yes…Miss…Angela, I’m doing fine I’m just tired that’s all…” She smiled and patted my head.
“If you need help just ask me or Philip, he’s a reliable student…” She smiled and gave me a wave after she went out.
“See…These fools don’t know anything…Just let me handle this…and you’ll be fine, just…LET, ME, IN…”
Shut up! Shut up! I won’t…break to you… I held my head tightly as my hair crippled. I won’t let you hurt anyone…
“You’re call…BUT… Just remember this…You’ll regret it…”
I thought I was going to enjoy our foundation day but, this time it won’t be easy.
