Chapter 19

"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOUR DOING?!" Jack yelled at his father, enraged, and far from relief. He couldn't believe who it was, but then yet he could. He didn't want to find out who his partner was, but he kinda did, even if he already had an estimated guess. He wanted to throw his father in prison-no, he wanted to kill him! Before he could do that, though, he needed to slip from his father's grasp....the knife! He barely caught it, but it was only a few inches from him, and if he played his cards right...."-won't we? Or maybe we should just cut off one of your pretty little heads and leave it for Harley to find?" This was it. His father was distracted. Now, the timing.....Do it! He moved his head forward, then rammed it back, hearing another crack and hoping that was his dad's skull. Then, he made a dash for it, snatched up the knife, and went to stand back to back with Oliver, not feeling any pain surprisingly. "You little asshole!" His father raged, a hand on his head, and he looked at the two boys. "Now your gonna get it. I was going easy on you." "Now Now, dear, you can't kill our son. We need him, remember?" Oliver placed a hand on his shoulder protectively. "For what?" Jack's mother smirked after removing her mask, and throwing it to the ground, revealing a pistol in her hands. "You'll see. Because we'll make you watch." She pulled the trigger, but it wasn't bullets that came out. It was darts. "Duck!" He shouted, throwing himself on Oliver, and falling to the ground. "There's more where that came from." Jack took Oliver's hand, and stood, not knowing who to focus on. "Jack, over here! This path will buy you some time!" He looked behind him to see Ann's ghost grabbing his arm, which became cold in her grip, and she dragged them both away, back into the other parking lot again. He could hear the sirens. About five minutes away, he assumed. "Jack, Harley texted me. Three minutes till they get here." "Until then, keep them occupied." Jack finished. He noticed someone in front of them, but didn't have time to stop, and promptly ran into them from behind. Oliver's hand slipped from his. "There you are. I heard your father decided to deal with Oliver. More fun for me." He ran, letting Ann pull him this way and that, trusting her to lead the way. But something pricked his leg. He pulled it out, and threw it to the ground, finding it harder and harder to walk. "No. Come on, don't do this to me." He muttered, as if lecturing his leg. He managed to find a tree to hide behind, since he couldn't feel his leg, and saw the red and blue police lights, the orange and white ambulance lights flash, as they pulled in. But he couldn't walk over there with a numb leg. So, he called Harley, and told her what he could in a short summary. "I'll find you. What about Oliver?" Jack gulped. "He's facing my so-called dad right now....and my dad is very, very pissed." "Got it. Some medics are also coming, so if you see them, don't worry." "Yeah, don't worry." He said, "I need to go so my mother doesn't find me. See you later." "Right. And Jack?" "Mm?" A moment of silence, and he thought he heard a small sniffle. Then: "Don't you fucking die on me or I'll kill you, you hear me?" He smirked. "I love you too." And he hung up.
