The Once King 6

"What s it doing?" Impmon asked, peering over your shoulder.

You were out in the backyard of the large house you had acquired thanks to said little digimon's hypnosis ability, relaxing on a deck chair, taking the time to reward yourself after all the effort you went into building the super computers you'd invested so much time in.

Impmon had been indulging in his own hobby, of ordering and collecting various alcoholic beverages, and Airdramon was relaxing in the pool. Then, your alcohol loving subordinate came tearing out in a panic and plopped his laptop down before you.

There on the screen, was a live feed, of a digimon. Small, squishy and one eyed. Definitely a baby digimon.

"I can make a rough guess." you mused, a small smile tugging at your lips, you were impressed despite yourself. "It's ingesting the vast amount data from all over the world that passes through the internet to get stronger and digivolve. Something like that is incredibly hard to in the digital world do because the vast majority of data has taken a physical form, and the kind of tools needed to pull something like this off would be far beyond most digimon."

Honestly, it was taking the easier route from your digivolution items. To make them initially, you had to create the framework of the item based on the digimon, copy the entirety of their species data and abilities as a whole, and then break down large areas of physical data into binary once again, to then transfer it into the framework to power the item itself.

What this little digimon was doing, seemed to be just ingesting raw binary data. It would not specifically trigger a digivolution like your digivolution items, but it would exponentially increase the strength of the digimon due to the sheer vast amount of binary data on the inernet, and force digivolution through brute force.

There was no elegance to it, but the pure brawn of the idea at all, was beautiful in of itself.

'How the hell did it get into the internet in the first place though?' you mused. You could probably pull it off, but going through the internet like that could be quite dangerous. The effects it could cause on the real world alone were problem enough. Messing with the wrong data by accident, could start off nuclear war.

"Let's see what you are, shall we?" you mused, and grabbed your digivice from the table with your drinks on it. You opened up the usb drive on it and plugged it into the laptop port.

You'd compiled a database of all the digimon you knew from your time in the digital world, and everything you'd learned about and their data. And with it, it was child's play to add a function to scan digimon using the data compiled already as a reference point. You'd never seen an Impmon before Demi-Meramon digivolved into one, and it worked perfectly on him.

Since the little internet bound digimon was basically broadcasting where it was, in just a few moments, you coded the scan through the connection.

On the live feed, the little digimon wriggled angrily and glared all around it, it probably felt the scan hitting it since while within the internet it would be much more susceptible to that kind of thing.

"Hmm?" you hummed as information began appearing in your database, "Kuramon huh? As I thought, it's a baby stage though it has a more natural alignment to the virus type."

Then, the Kuramon let loose a noise of anger and its amber eye glowed red with fury and part of the connection was cut off. "Huh, pretty strong for a baby digimon." you noted.

To bad for it, it didn't get it all.

And then, as its eye glow faded, it erupted into light and grew in size. It digivolved, straight passed the In-Training form, straight to the Rookie stage, another digimon you had never seen, Keramon. Its power was something else, comparable to a champion digimon in strength.

Yet skipping a stage like that, it was so wasteful. Interesting, since you hadn't known that was possible, but such a waste. If it went through the In-Training stage first, it may have even been approaching an ultimate level digimon as Keramon.

Still, it was growing strong quickly. And you decided, you'd best nip it in the bud. Uploading your subordinates to your digivice and through it straight to the internet was well within your abilities.

Before you could though, a Greymon and Kabuterimon burst into the scene and attacked. But, two champions or not, Keramon was easily on par with them. So they chose to digivolve. And you saw, one of the drawbacks of the cheat digivolution supplied by the digivice when it took them quite a few seconds to do it. Natural digivolution was almost instant. And Keramon proved so, when it digivolved itself, straight to the Ultimate Level, Infermon, and defeated them while they were stuck digivolving.

Then it escaped.

And you could only shake your head in disappointment. They should have digivolved to their maximum level from the get go. What fool gave their enemies even a sliver of a chance when it was something so important?

But what bugged you more, was the Infermon itself. It was at the peak strength of an ultimate digimon. But that was all. It skipped the champion level, skipped another form! If it didn't, it would be on the mega level!

So wasteful!

Infermon escaped deeper into the internet, and ate and ate more and more data, yet at the same time, you noted, it was sending messages to every terminal with an email service in the world. Phones, computers, laptops, game systems, televisions and more 'Where are you?' the message said.

Soon, the digidestined digimon chased Infermon down again within twenty minutes. Funnily enough, they found it in the Floatia Inc service system.

Yet once again, you found yourself near face palming at the absurdity of what they did. There were four of them now. Agumon, Gabumon, Tentomon and Patamon. This time, they didn't even come as freaking champions, but rookies! What was this nonsense!?

The Agumon and Gabumon somehow digivolved straight up to the mega level, Wargreymon and Metal Garurumon. They were just lucky Infermon tried to escape rather than attack. Still, Infermon proved its mettle when it endured their attacks. From what data you were able to gather, it seemed its exoskeleton shell was as hard as chrome digizoid.

And then, it digivolved again. To the mega level itself. Diaboromon, and..proceeded to defeat the Patamon and Tentomon that..hadn't digivolved while the other two were attacking for some reason.

So incompetent it was unreal.

Things took a turn for the worst when Diaboromon escaped again. And then, before the eyes of the world, began to multiply over and over and over and your fears were founded when it fired off a missile, aimed at the city you were in currently, aimed at the digidestined.

It was child's play to deal with yourself. With Airdramon's ability to make portals, all he had to do was fly close enough, open a portal and redirect it up into space.

But doing so kept you busy for a few minutes. And when you returned, it was to find the Wargreymon and Metal Garurumon, near death, and Diaboromon, multiplied to numbers near uncountable.

Well, it was just a good thing you had created a virus to destroy it while it was a Kuramon and connected to your digivice now wasn't it? And it just empowered the virus more and more with how much data it gorged on.

Yet, once again, somehow, at the last minute, the Digidestined somehow got another random power up. Jogress Digivolution. Before your eyes, you watched as Wargreymon and Weregarurumon fused into one, stronger digimon. Reaching what was clearly the Ultra level that only you and Analogman had ever had digimon reach before.

Omegamon. Its powers, was incredible. Omegamon was so powerful, it wiped out all of the millions of Diaboromon with ease. It was so powerful, it could probably have given one of your partner digimon a fight.

And Diaboromon was dealt with moments later.

You shook your head as you struggled to understand their general incompetence, "How absurd," you laughed and then looked at Impmon, "Your friends really need to think things through more, they could have ended that when it was still a Keramon with ease, yet held back for no reason."

"They're still children my lord, they'll grow out of it." Impmon defending them, but he did look away from your quirked eyebrow that you sent his way. Yeah, you were only eight when you dealt with fighting a digital war yourself and became king. And you were still only eleven, all of the digidestined were older than you besides the youngest who were the same age as you.

'Still, jogress huh?' you thought idly as you made your way into your home. That was quite the ability. And a form of digivolution you knew nothing about. You'd have to look into that.

Just then, Impmon's laptop, still in your arms, buzzed, and your digivice still connected to it bega blinking. "What's this now?" you raised an eyebrow in intrigue and opened it up. It took just a moment to notice, the connection you'd set up to Diaboromon as a Keramon was still active. Odd, it should have disappeared when it died...?

Something came through the connection a moment later, and before your stupefied gaze, your digivice lit up. Specifically, the application, and screen filled with static. And before your eyes, the static cleared away, and data swirled onto the screen, forming an oval, red and black shape. A Digi-egg.

....

......

...........

"My lord are you alright!" Impmon shouted and you blinked. then you noticed, you were...on your knees? And what was the wet feeling trailing down your cheeks?

...were you crying?
