The Old Man And His Dog

When I got up the Giant was still asleep he stayed like that for a long time.

After I fell asleep again

When I woke up there were people all around me

I saw the Giant I spent the last few days with on a white thing kinda like his bouncy thing I always fell asleep on.

(Authors Note Everything from this point on is from the doctor's POV and the dog doesn't know what they are saying.)

The old man died from cancer said one of the doctors

Yeah he knew apparently

And is this his dog?

Yeah said a woman

David huh

Wait wasn't that the old man's grandson's name that never left the hospital and passed away a few years ago.

Yeah, I remember how sad the old man was saying that was his only family and the boy always asking to go to the festival.

So he named the dog David so he wouldn't have to be alone in his final moments.

That's enough to make just about anybody cry.
