CHAPTER 32

Yoo Na went back home, devastated that there wasn't a single valid clue to help catch the culprit but the only thing she could get was that he was left handed which was as good as useless because they couldn't possibly suspect all the left handed people in the country, it was just absurd, so she made up her mind to go to APEX MANUFACTURING CO. the next day, even if she had to walk there. She was getting too impatient with the lack of clues and she just couldn't sit tight and wait for the inspectors to call her because it'd take forever if she did. She opened a small box where she kept the money she saved and had kept hidden from her parents, but when she opened it, it was empty. Her parents had cleaned out her safe but she wasn't surprised that they did since the house was so small and they could barely hide anything properly. She would just have to walk all the way to the company with an incredible long distance.

Yoo Na went early to school as usual, ignored everyone as usual as she took her classes and when it was lunch time, she set out to dispose the litters into the trash with a stick as her punishment stated. She was busy putting the litters away in the trash with focus when she saw another girl dispose the litters also in place of Da Yeon and it wasn't so surprising to her since they were wealthy, 'so much for equality' she thought inwardly and then her gaze narrowed down to Jisoo who hopped happily towards her and she could only sigh inwardly.

"I'll help you out." Jisoo offered as she took a stick to dispose the litters.

"It's not so much work compared to what I normally do." She stated with a flat tune but Jisoo persisted still.

"It's not fair for you to take all the punishment since it's because of me you got punished." Jisoo said with an apologetic look.

"Whatever." Yoo Na said, obviously not interested in her disturbance, all she was thinking about was how to meet the director of the company which seemed almost impossible but she would try anyway. Jisoo joined in the disposing of litters next to Yoo Na humming a song and Yoo Na froze because she recognized the song as Bae Ra sang it continuously because it was her favourite song. She felt a sting of pain and joy hearing Jisoo hum the song.

"Are you okay?" Jisoo asked and she nodded not saying a word as she continued with disposing the litters, she looked up and her eyes met Cha Eun's who was staring at her and she quickly averted her gaze from his as she wondered why he was staring at her like that.

"Are you having fun?" She heard Da Yeon snicker behind them as she walked towards them with Nam Joo beside her. She tried to ignore them at all cost because she was really in no mood to tongue lash anyone, she just wanted one peaceful school day to herself or was that also too much to ask. "Hey! I'm talking to you, don't you know it's rude to ignore someone?" Da Yeon's voice was raised and Yoo Na noticed the similarity of Da Yeon and her mother, they were both loud and they both acted rashly.

"Do I have to reply you with another slap? The most punishment I'll get is washing toilets and I'm no lazy bone like you." Yoo Na said with a flat tune as she locked her gaze with her and Da Yeon was startled at her remark and she immediately felt intimidated by her. 'She had a big mouth but she was weak' Yoo Na thought inwardly.

"You won't dare, you're lucky my mom didn't sue you or else you'll be spending weeks in jail." Da Yeon threatened but Yoo Na ignored her and continued with what she was doing but Da Yeon wouldn't just let her be.

"You should give up and stop acting so cool because no matter what, you'll always be beneath us." Da Yeon hissed at her.

"Didn't they say the end is supposed to justify the means? But this is only the beginning, so we'll see who'll be beneath and who'll be standing tall when we've reached the end." Yoo Na retorted, eager to get Da Yeon off her hair for the day as she expected her to stomp out angrily.

"You wretched hoe! You'll remain poor and you'll die poor!" Da Yeon cussed angrily at her as she stomped out angrily.

"She's really mad, you should have just ignored her but you really love talking back." Jisoo said with a worried expression on her face.

"She's just a loud blockhead, so you have no reason to be scared of her, the only ally she has is her money." Yoo Na said and Jisoo admired her intelligence.

"You're really so cool unni." Jisoo chirped with a grin on her face as she gave Yoo Na a thumbs up.

School was closed for the day and the students hurried home in their luxurious cars while Yoo Na walked briskly on the way to APEX company without Jisoo or Cha Eun noticing she was gone since she was tired of everyone's disturbances. It was indeed a long walk but she arrived at the company three hours later. The glass luxurious building stood taller than most tall buildings she had seen but she wasn't there to admire the height or the beauty of the company so she walked into the company but she couldn't go through a any further since there was security blocking the main entrance to the offices and she didn't have a pass to go through, so she went to meet the receptionist behind the counter.

"Excuse me miss, I'm looking for the director." Yoo Na asked politely, praying inwardly that the lady would let her in. The lady narrowed her eyes at her from head to toe and on seeing her uniform, a smile appeared on her face which made her realise that the lady was familiar with the school.

"Do you have an appointment with him?" The lady asked politely.

"No, but it's important." Yoo Na replied and the lady gave her an apologetic look as she said,

"I'm really sorry but you can't see the director without an appointment." Yoo Na's face dropped at her words and she sighed deeply in disappointment. She couldn't have walked all that long distance for nothing, she made up her mind that she would wait for him till the close of work but the problem was that she couldn't recognize him since she had never seen him before.

"Thank you for your time." Yoo Na said as she turned to leave.

"Anytime." The lady said with a smile and Yoo Na wasn't surprised at the lady's nice behaviour towards her because she attended a wealthy school so she must have thought she was one of those rich kids. She walked away and was about to go outside to wait for the director when someone called out her name.

"Yoo Na." She turned around to meet Cha Run walking towards her with a perplexed look on his face. "What are you doing here?" He asked and her brows creased together, thinking that he had followed her there.

"I should be asking you that question." She said with an emotionless face and Cha Run chuckled lightly.

"My dad is actually the CEO, you must have heard." He said and her eyes fluttered in surprise not because his father owned the multi billion dollar company, but because she saw an opportunity to meet the director.

"Can I ask for a favour?" She asked with eyes that gleamed mischievously.

"In exchange for knowledge to fill my curiosity?" He asked with a smirk.

"Yes." She said.

"Okay then, what do you want?" He asked and a sarcastic smirk danced on her face.
