Cale was sitting in his room, leaning back in the armchair by the window. His relaxed appearance was in stark contrast to the chaos outside. Cale had filled Ray Beckart's memories with the things he had done when he had replaced him and had taken him back to his room.

Amaris, he knew, was now in the infirmary. The doctors were trying to heal her damaged mana heart. Cale knew he was complicating things with what he was doing, but it was a necessary action.

He considered Amaris his friend and his plan through her had put her life in danger. Dante had already realized that Cale had tricked him. Brendon was going to pin it on him and Douglas Reagon was going to see Cale himself for what had happened to his daughter.
