After the practice Isaac worked out some more with Danny before training in the woods again, this time using a small river to check how his powers worked when he was near water or under it. He was glad he did check to because it wasn't as he thought, his body ended up burning so hot that it would boil the water, while not being able to use flames at least he wasn't defenseless.
Though while he was checking it out he noticed that it took more concentration and energy from his body, it was good and bad overall he couldn't ask for anything more. Nothing really happened after that besides him checking out a new place to work around town, which he ended up choosing the diner in town.
While he got to work normal hours on weekdays thanks to school, he was at night shift for weekends which would take him into five in the morning Friday's and Saturday's plus side he didn't start until next Monday. Another thing was he found an MMA gym where he could practice his moves, he was actually able to get a sparing partner there to help him.
He wouldn't be able to kick his dad's ass if he didn't try harder at it, which was wrong for a son to think, but for him it just became something normal for him. He was now taking a two hour advance class ever other day, it was when he went in it wasn't a set schedule they told him it was his money wasted when he didn't show.
Isaac was fine with that he also thought the same, but he only needed half the time to get back to where he was, this was more about him gaining someone to spar with rather then him actually learning something. Besides if he didn't become a marine in his past life he would have ended up as a MMA fighter, it was only cause he wanted to do more that he chose being a Marine.

Friday morning arrived quickly with Thursday flying past, of course he hung out with Allison a lot more and he heard from her that she was going to Lydia's party with Scott. It seemed she still hit the dog and they met at the animal shelter, he was able to charm her enough to go to the party with him, Isaac would be there too but he was going stag.
Walking down the stairs he saw his dad sitting at the table, without a word he stalked to the man and dived at him while cracking his knuckles across his face, "Round two." He said as his fist connected.
While not fully healed his ribs were doing a whole lot better so he was taking his shot, he didn't want his father to think that he was lying when he said he was going to keep attacking him. The past two days had been quiet since his first attack so he was showing up for the next fight, although his dad still had more muscle then him at the moment, that didn't discourage him.
With a grin he knocked his fist right over his left eye smiling when he hit hard enough to crack skin causing another cut to appear, but that was the last punch he got in. His dad seeing what was happening used all his strength to throw him off before connecting a right hook to his cheek, it would be bruising for sure, and it was also something that his father tended to avoid.
He didn't want anyone to notice the bruises on Isaac but it seemed like he couldn't see where he was aiming this time, he cursed but still went back to hit the ribs again. Isaac winced while blocking some of the blows, he was better coordinated with the body now so he knew how to better position himself to not get hurt as much.
"Is that all you got asshole!" Isaac shouted pretty sure the neighbors being able to hear, but most left early for work, at most it would be Jackson who would hear them fighting.
"You think your tough you little shit!" His father said right back hitting his exposed side.
As he went to pull back to hit again Isaac went and caught the arm rolling them over, he got in five quick shots to the gut with the last one having been a heated fist literally so it burned a little of his skin. His father was able to grab a plate though breaking it over his head which dazed him a moment causing him to fall over while letting go.
The fight stopped after that, when he regained his barrings he could see that his dad was tempted to put him in the freezer, to bad that they needed to leave for school so he couldn't do that. "You might have gotten this round but I won't stop until one of us is put in the hospital." Isaac said while his eyes glaring daggers.
"I would love to see you try." His father said no love lost between the two of them.
After cleaning up the mess, clearing the glass off his head, and putting an ice pack on his face they made their way out to the car, before he got in he saw Jackson across the street staring at the two of them, "What the fuck are you looking at Jackass!" Isaac said while giving him the finger before getting in the car.
The ride to school was quiet again as they made their way, he could tell how pissed his father was which gave him a smile the entire way, he couldn't keep the smile off his face. As they pulled up he saw Allison getting out of her car, he didn't bother saying anything to his father as he walked over to her.
"Well good morning beautiful." He said with a smile.
"Good morn--" she stopped seeing the bruise on his face frowning, "What the hell happened to you face?"
He smiled loving her concern, wrapping and arm around her shoulder he began to walk off with her, "Well you see there was this bigger guy who wanted to use my face as target practice, there was nothing I could do about it so it just happened."
"No that answer is not going to fly, what the hell happened?" She asked while stopping them both and putting her hands on her hips.
He grinned, "You are so adorable when you are upset. Well I joined an MMA gym this is just from training today nothing to worry about at all." He said while reassuring her that he was okay, which worked as she started to walk again.
"Well I was just worrying about you, next time I will know that it is something like that so I don't worry so much." She said with a smile as she leaned into him, she wasn't dating Scott yet so it is okay for them to be this close.
"Thank you. So are you going to stick around to see if I make first line?" He asked with a smile.
"Yeah, I kind of already promised Scott that I would be there so of course I have to make it. There is also the fact that my best friend will be playing so I need to cheer and make sure that he makes the first line." She giggled while pushing him some, he dramatically fell away from her.

Later on the field he was warming up while getting ready to play, he already knew he was going to make it he just didn't need Scott to outshine him though. He wasn't to worried though, it would just be some unknown character that he would be replacing on the team, if it was actually someone important, well he would still do it.
"Let's go! Gather round! Bring it in, come on! Come on! Got a question, McCall?" Coach asked as they were all standing around outside getting ready for the scrimmage.
"What?" Scott said breaking his thoughts away from Allison who was waving at him, when she looked to Isaac and waved he pouted ignoring her, she should have waved at him first.
Coach looked at Scott as if he was an idiot, "You raised your hand. You have a question?"
"Oh - No. I was just, uh - Nothing. Sorry."Scott was flustered as the whole team was looking at him at that moment.
"Okay. You know how this goes. If you don't make the cut, you're most likely sitting on the bench for the rest of the season. You make the cut - You play. Your parents are proud. Your girlfriend loves ya! Huh? Everything else is, uh - Cream cheese. Now, get out there and show me whatcha got! Come on!" Coach said while letting them go to the field, it was mainly the back-ups playing against the starters, some actually being mixed in.
Isaac walked right out into mid field standing in the back, he twirled his stick in his hand while waiting for the whistle to blow, Jackson was at the start facing off with Danny who was the leader for the back-ups. He was put on a team with Jackson since he was someone working to get on the front line, Scott was with Danny facing against them.
As the game began Jackson was quick to scoop up the ball and run at the other side, he had to get around Danny but he was stopped by other defenders so he couldn't get the quick goal. Lucky for Isaac he was seen so Jackson passed him the ball, even if he wanted to do it all himself, but he knew better then to play selfish ball.
Well that is unless he was facing Scott since it seemed he didn't like being not able to score against him the other day.
Isaac got around the one person blocking him before throwing the ball towards the net, with a small burst of fire it curved right into the goal, the spectators cheered while his teammates patted his shoulders. Nodding Isaac set back up while the coach congratulated him, this time it wasn't as easy for Jackson to get the ball which made it roll over towards the waiting Scott on the side.
Seeing it Scott didn't waste tie getting it and running to the other side, Isaac though wasn't going to allow him to score that easy and chased the kid down being right on his heels. Isaac smiled seeing him do a somersault over two defenders, when he went to land though Isaac body checked him making the ball fly out of his mesh landing away from the two of them.
Scott stood back up and glared at him, Isaac only smiled before backing away, he saw the flash of yellow but he wasn't scared no he was still smirking as he walked backwards not caring about the scrimmage at all.
"McCall! Get over here! What in God's name was that? This is a lacrosse field. What, are you trying out for the gymnastics team?" Coach said pissed about what had just happened, though Isaac knew he would have been happy if Scott would have been able to get the shot off.
"No, coach." Scott said putting his head down, but Isaac saw him bunching up his fist as he sent him a glare.
"What the hell was that?" Coach said digging into him more as the rest of the team watched on since the whole game was paused.
"I don't know. I - just trying to make the shot." He was upset cause this was his chance to get first line but it had been stopped by Isaac's one body check.
"Well play the game right and you might actually make the shot, all that flashy stuff isn't going to help the team if you are just thrown around. With that said, we still need things like that on this team, so guess what McCall, you got first line!" He said ending it with a smile while patting him on the shoulder.
Isaac just shook his head seeing that, it seems that it would be harder then he thought to actually get Scott to not be apart of first line, and since he knew that Scott could make the shot it then he couldn't say anything. Sighing he moved back out there where the game went on for another twenty minutes, of course he was switched out every now and then but he did end up making first line too.
As it was all over he stretched before making his way to the front, he was heading home instead of training today since there was the party tonight, plus he wanted to rest his body after the fight and scrimmage today. He didn't even talk to Allison who seemed so caught up with Scott that she didn't notice him leaving, all he did was shrug.
