A New Friend

Quinn rushed down the corridor, looking down as she shoved her quill into her bag. A distant bell chorused, signaling the beginning of her next lesson. She was late. Speeding up, she rounding a bend when she crashed headlong into someone. Quinn fell down, her bag's contents spilling on the ground.

"Oh no! I'm so sorry," said the girl, bending down to help gather Quinn's supplies.

"It's fine," Quinn said, shoving her papers back into her bag.

"I'm Lily by the way." She said, extending her hand.

"I'm Quinn, nice to meet you," Quinn said, accepting the handshake.

"Quinn, as in The Quinn?" Lily asked.

"Am I well known?"

"You're Albus' friend aren't you?"

"Yeah."

"I'm Albus' sister."

"Oh, I didn't know he had a sister."

"Wow, I feel loved," Lily said, laughing.

Now that she knew Albus and Lily were siblings she could see the similarities. They both had green eyes, though Lily had bright red hair while Albus' hair was black.

"You know me and my friends are going to have a movie night in Gryffindor dormitories if you want to join us," Quinn said, smiling broadly.

"Sounds fun! What time should I meet you guys?"

"How does seven sound?"

"Perfect, I'll see you there."

Classes that day sped by and soon enough Lily and several other girls were gathered in the Gryffindor 6th year dormitory. Pillows, blankets, and snacks were spread around the room, chatter filling the night air. The girls in the room were Quinn's dearest friends. Five in all. All very different, yet they got along flawlessly. Alice, short and skinny with dark brown hair that hung just past her shoulders.Rosemary, tall with golden hair and gentle blue eyes. Christin, ivory-toned and smiling. Lorelei, fun and bouncy with bleach blonde hair that practically crackled with energy. Finally Violet, calm and kind with and silky brown hair and a positive outlook on life. They were an awfully fun lot. Lily had had hardly felt like she belonged to a group more. They treated her as an equal, even though she was a fifth year. Lily fit right in. Soon enough she considered the group her best friends and, having found out Quinn's plan to stay at school and read all Christmas break, Quinn soon found herself on the Hogwarts Express ready to leave.
