The first mission

After reaching the villa complex, Edward told Roy to go to his villa and rest for sometime. He will be summoned after some time. Roy nodded and went his separate way in a different car.

After arriving he went straight to his bed,and opened up his messages. He received a message from John asking to go out for a trip,which starts tomorrow and lasts for a week. This included the youth from some of the major guilds. Basically the future Royal academy stars.

Roy wanted to go but he was already going on a mission. And he knew how important it is to gain first hand experience.So he replied that he will be busy. After that he went to take a cold shower. He had already learned the new spatial spell while he was in the car.

After taking a shower he went ahead and watched some news. He didn't find anything out of the ordinary going on. Just then he got the notification from Edward.

'Get ready,Smith is arriving in 5 minutes and don't be late.'

Roy got ready and waited for the car to arrive. When the car arrived he sat in and went to meer Edward.

He arrived at his office and went in when the permission was granted. "Sit down, it's about your first mission." Said Edward.

"You will be acting as a bodyguard for one of the daughters of the syris guild. The second strongest guild. She is the same age as you. Her name is Rachel. She will be attending the trip. This will be a cruise trip to a newly built tourist attraction by the collaboration of the top 4 guilds. Be on your best behaviour and avoid any fights. At all cost. You will be wearing a mask, don't worry it won't come off no matter what." He handed out a Black mask with faint golden lines running on it's sides

Roy again felt a sense of nostalgia and similarity from the mask.

"You will leave towards the Syris estate this evening and the trip leaves tomorrow. After this mission you will be given a week off,go and meet your family." Said Edward.

After that Roy went back. Edward forwarded all information on Rachel to Roy. He was laying in bed after completing his packing. Then he opened the profile.

Rachel was a 5'7 girl with long black hair. Red eyes , and a cute pointy nose. She was the youngest daughter of the syris guild. Then something important caught Roy's attention.

Extreme mood swings. Be careful- Edward.

Reading this Roy already had a headache. He really wasn't in the mood to deal with a child at this point. He had too many things to do. Well training the mental state is also a quality of a hero. Or that's what he told himself.

Later the evening

Roy was summoned by Edward in his office to meet the Syris guild. So he went .

After 5 minutes he arrived at the office. After knocking he went in. When he entered he saw a 40 year old man,as old as William sitting on the sofa and next to him was Rachel.

Roy's heartbeat escalated,if it was because of Rachel's or about what's about to come. He didn't know.

"Roy meet them,they are your in-laws." Said Edward not giving a shit about Roy.

"Time dialation." Roy activated time dialation and fell on the floor.

'What the- WHAT DID HE JUST SAY. okay calm down,you might have heard wrong. Deep breaths,deep breaths.' He deactivated time dialation.

"Can you repeat what did you just say." Said Roy in a calm manner atleast he tried.

"She will be marrying you,your mother has already approved. Also your father and Sir. Bradford made a commitment." Said Edward calmly.

"Don't worry,I don't want to marry a looser like you anyway. I don't have a choice." Said Rachel.

"Yeah,thank you. Just needed to hear that." Replied Roy being sarcastic.

"The are already fighting like couples." Said Bradford. While looking at the 2.

"Sigh.... Let's get to the mission." Said Roy changing the topic.

"Yes you will be leaving with them. And Sir. Bradford will test your strength. His son-in-law can't be that weak." Said Edward.

"I'll be in deep shit after this. I will have the other 3 guilds,the anti association and demons after my ass now." Said Roy loosing his composed posture and not caring about his 'in-laws'

"Don't worry the association and Syris guild will protect you at all cost,you just focus on your 'wife'." Said Edward and Bradford in union.

"Fine,but we are not getting married anytime soon and we can refuse if we don't like eachother. Also no one gets to know about it." Roy made a demand.

Syris just nodded in return.

Just what had to make it worse,Kiro joined in the fun. Roy not knowing what to do sat quietly, while Edward and Syris were talking about things.

Then he entered the car with The his 'in-laws' and went towards there home.

There home was like w typical guild house. Similar to his villa. After getting off the car and getting eyed by literally everyone. He made his way through in the house.

"Come to the training room,time to show your worth. Edward has told me everything btw." Said Bradford as he smiled towards Roy.

In the training room

"I assume you are not bronze third level like my daughter?" Asked Bradford.

Rachel finally seemed interested,she wanted to show the difference in their rank.She was amongst the top 3 in her generation with gravity and earth elements.

" I am middle stage silver." Said Roy his voice echoing throughout the room. Shocking everyone but Bradford.

" As expected, Edward has a great eye for talent." Said Bradford proudly,since Roy was his son-in-law.

"Tch,still a looser." Said Rachel. Roy ignored her.

"You will be going against a silver middle stage aswell,is that fine?"asked Bradford.

The reason he asked was because the difference in experience would be great.

"Yes,I had the best teacher In this world." Said Roy with a hesitation.

"Sam, come here. Spar with the young-" just as he was about to say it he stopped. He remembered Edward's warning.

Rachel caught this,and had a mischievous smile. Her thoughts were clearly evident.

Sam was a fire elemental user. " I will only use enhancements and my katana." Said Roy not sounding overbearing.

Everyone gasped even Bradford wad surprised to hear this. But then "Sure whatever you want.".

Thus started the spar. "Time reverend" said Roy as he took out his katana and dashed towards Sam.

Sam obviously being a beta simp for Rachel started with his most powerful rank 2 spells. " Fire torna-" he was cut of by Roy appearing Infront of him.

" Goodnight,and don't eye her like that." Said Roy as the hilt of the katana connected with Sam's head.

Thud!!! Sam fell on the floor. Everyone was shocked, seeing Sam get defeated so easily.

"Hahah, that's my son-in-law" said Bradford proudly. As he walked towards Roy.

"You are the only worthy one for her, although don't mind her brothers. They can be ass sometimes." Said Bradford.

"Your room is right next to Rachel's and no funny business. The walls are not sound proof." He smiled as he left Roy with a butler.

"Wa- DAD WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SAYING" said Rachel all red as he ran to her room.

'what is this family ' said Roy dumbstruck. He went to his room. It was similar to his old room. Since it was specifically made so He doesn't feel homesick again.

' all family members gather for dinner in 20 minutes.'- Hana.

'Mother I'm not hungry '- Eric. The youngest son.

'not a choice little boy.'- Stan. The oldest son.

'we have a new family member, attendance is mandatory.'- Hana.

Roy looking at the screen not knowing what to do. 'sigh... I think the sooner I accept this the better it will be.' he was led by the servant to the dinning room.

There was a large table similar in size to the one in his villa. There was Bradford with his blonde hair and golden eyes. Next to him Eric with golden hair and blue eyes. Lastly Stan with his golden hair and red eyes.

Next to Eric was Rachel who looked exactly like her mother,Hana, who also had black hair and red eyes.

"Welcome to the family Roy" said Hana sounding as polite as possible. She reminded him of his mom.

"Woah,big brother is really handsome." Said Eric. "Aww,thank yo-" said Stan but was cut off. " Not you, your ugly. I was talking about big sis's Knight." Said Eric in his 12 year old childish voice.

Rachel again turned red. " Don't call him my KNIGHT." She said. "What a tsundere." Said Stan.

"So you are the esteemed brother-in-law. How about a friendly spar?" Asked Stan. He was 21.

"He defeated Sam with a katana and a buff ability. You have no chance, even if your almost gold core." Said Bradford. He already knew the abilities Roy has, Edward told him.

"Hmm, I don't think so." Said Stan. Getting excited. " He has a mission tomorrow. Next time." Said Hana.

Eric and Roy hit it off good,since Eric was similar to his sister. After having the meal Roy went to his room to sleep for the next morning departure.

And thus came the morning.
