Chapter 145: Promises

Chapter 145: Promises

~Mash B. POV~

[Worldline: Re: Zero]

[Sanctuary, Echidna Room]

*Shiii*

Exiting through the portal I viewed Echidna's body. But the room was filled with research notes courtesy of Beatrice working on it not allowing anyone inside as I spoke to my Spirit in a friendly tone, "Yo! Beatrice, it's been a long while since we met hasn't old friend."

Turning around her gaze met mind curtly nodding with a smile on her face sharing the familiar greeting in return, "I know. It has been a while since we last spoke Mash. How have the other worlds been I suppose."

I smiled thanking her. I guess with Beatrice still busy trying to revive Echinda but I smirked being the bearer of good news for a change, "Pretty good. Good in fact. I managed to obtain some knowledge about Magecraft even devouring the memories of the supposed [King of Magic] Solomon. Even how to revive the dead."

*Tmp*

She paused when she heard my words eyes widening. Before she could speak, I heard another person entering as I turned around to see a new face here he spoke in a surprised tone, "Beatrice I managed to obtain the herbs you requested. Are these… oh. Hello again Mash, was it?"

I blinked a bit surprised to see him here but considering who he was and his race I understood immediately as I replied with a smile, "Good to see you again Seig. How's life treating you in this world?"

Genuinely curious Seig smiled lightly as he replied sheepishly rubbing the back of his head in a thankful tone, "Good. The villagers were nice and pleasantly kind. When I mentioned your name and this Emilia person, they drafted me to her immediately after a rest. One thing led to another and I'm working with Beatrice asking for my input on Magecraft."

I nodded in understanding as he placed a basket of mana herbs on the nearby table and excused himself promptly. With him gone, I began to look at the dead body as I asked Beatrice in a serious tone, "Now then before we go ahead… do you have the contract ready for this day?"

She nodded as she handed over the slave contract collar. I agreed to revive Echidna but never said she'd be free since she's a wild card I prefer not to have. But if this is for my Spirit then I'll do it.

Beatrice began to place the collar around the corpse. With this, I began to put my hand above her body as I activated the spell in a neutral tone, "Alright time to fulfill my promise, Beatrice. Ahem! [Denial of Nothingness]."

*Shiii*

My hands glowed as I activated the spell using my Magic. The magical energy particles sprinkled around Echidna's body as we waited… I know the spell worked seeing my MP was used up.

We didn't have to wait long as the body flinched, and Echidna's eyes twitched as she gently opened them. She began rubbing them speaking trying to clear her throat, "Ah…. Ahh… Oh goodness how – oh. It's your ugly mug."

Well fuck you too. Managing to see again and see the face of her murderer is probably the most accurate response.

She soon gestured to the collar around her neck gently rubbing it with her pouting in my direction in an annoyed tone, "Really? I know you don't trust me but isn't this a bit much?"

I shrugged as Beatrice hugged her mother affectionately calling her name, "Mother!"

Hugging her she seemed surprised by Beatrice's hug. But soon, she gazed at me and it clicked in her head how she is received with a 'smile' on her face, "Fufufu… I see now. I doubted you would but seeing my Betty is your Spirit Contract makes this much more sense. Thank you very much for bringing me back from beyond both of you."

I rolled my eyes as Beatrice was happy her mother was around. However, Echidna looked me over with a bemused expression on her face, "Ahh… you managed to obtain all the Authorities, didn't you? And you haven't gone made yet? Color me impressed."

Shrugging her words I asked in a serious tone my gaze not leaving her holding up a Self-Geass Scroll earning her attention, "Where not done just yet Echidna I want you to sign this Self-Geass Scroll following the rules inscribed keeping your word. The last thing I need is a rogue Witch off my watch."

She simply raised an eyebrow at me grasping onto the paper scroll. She read the contents quickly soon asking the obvious, "You want me to work for you till you find your original home across the Multiverse huh? Quite the ordeal while restricting much of my freedom but then again you are dealing with a Witch of Greed."

She only grinned a bit wider seemingly pleased by the offer. She wasn't wrong since there is a benefit to gaining knowledge from other worlds during my travels as she assisted me in any way possible. That and she can't betray me made sure of that during the week in the Fate/Stay Night world by getting the best attorneys to create this contract.

That and be someone to help Emilia in my absence. I could only imagine the frustration she'll endure when that happens can't stand being around her.

She saw my mischievous expression already frowning what I had planned. She's certainly smart to know my uptake as she sighed trying to stand up, "Sigh… how bothersome. At the very least knowledge outside my world is tempting and no witch Scent to startle that annoying lizard."

*Thud*

She fell trying to stand up with Beatrice assisting her. I couldn't help but snicker at her predicament as she pouted at me trying to stand up in an annoyed tone, "Hmph! Didn't expect you to be the spiteful type. Not helping a lady in need…?"

I looked around trying to search for such a lady in need before finally responding as she leaned on the table of her tomb, "What lady? I don't see no lady around?"

She merely clicked her tongue at me. Yeah, I seem to recall her eating my 'existence' last time I was down at her witch tea party.

I'm still a bit spiteful of that but for now, her assistance would be needed considering her intellect for magical artifacts or magic to have a second opinion on other matters if the need arises. For now, I checked the skills I got from Sefar to see how effective they are.

Skill List.

----

<Crest of the Wandering Star> (Active) Lv. MAX

Description: This skill allows the user to turn into a giant god to destroy civilization, the fundamental design of Sefar. With this active skill, the lives, structures, and concepts the user destroys are absorbed as Spiritron information and increase in size. The user cannot by his own will remove this skill.

By absorbing an amount of Magical Energy equal to the user's current HP amount, the user's maximum HP doubles. Further, due to the user modifier, whenever the user's structure reaches a size double the previous, he will advance to the next stage, and all of his parameters are increased by 100%.

- [Toggle On/[Off]]

<Magic Energy Absorption> (Active) Lv. MAX

Description: An exclusive skill of Attilaight Cell. The body of the Titan, composed of Spiritron collectors, will unconditionally absorb "Magical Energy processed into techniques" and convert it into HP and MP. Techniques equate to skills, knowledge, and civilization. To an Anti Cell, there is no better form of nourishment.

Any form of attack (interference) designed by intellect - however undeveloped the theory behind it may be - will only grant more power to the user. The large firepower of greater magecraft and strategic weapons of science and technology will fuel the fire further. On the other hand, while pure magical energy - what can be called life force itself - will also be mostly absorbed, it can still exert its regular effect. Facing against an Anti-Cell, it comes down to simply "bludgeoning" it.

----

Bruh… with these I have essentially the ultimate defense against Magic. I'm so fucking glad I destroyed this alien and looking into the future taking her skills as my own.

Moving on though I left Echinda and Beatrice to their own devices. They needed some catching up to do and I must deal with the Moon Cell soon enough.

Taking out the formerly planet-sized moon into a miniature size of a baseball from my [GoB] letting it levitate around me. Soon a blue scan appeared before a voice could be heard sounding feminine and spoke in a curious tone, "So… you are the one the SE.RA.PH recognizes you as our owner, correct? I'm the advanced A.I. BB as per your orders filling in the role of the Moon Cell."

I smiled hearing this as I spoke to BB in a gentle genuine kind tone getting information on the state of the Moon Cell, "You would be correct BB. I even made sure to recover the missing 80% data that the Moon Cell fought against Sefar. Can I ask do you have any records of the True Magics?"

This was partially a reason why I came and collected the Moon Cell and did not ask for it using the Holy Grail. Usually, one way or another obtaining a True Magic involves some form of bond with Root, and considering I'm an outsider I didn't want to take any chances.

From the dawn of history, mankind has been in contact with the Moon Cell on and off and was always able to access it through their Spirits or souls, with the Moon Cell frequently inviting humans inside of it to come and teach it.

Unique to the world of Fate/EX, the Moon Cell's photonic crystals are shown to have been created 4.6 billion years before the Age of Man, making it a construct formed roughly 100 million years before even the formation of the Earth.

It holds the Moon Cell Automaton, a large computer-like construct created by an unknown civilization one hundred million years before the existence of the Earth or the Moon. It has recorded everything that has happened on the planet since its formation, and it keeps the records much like Swirl of the Root.

It is the oldest known object in the solar system, and it has watched the Earth since its creation. The exact formation of the planets and how the crystals were integrated into the moon is unknown, but scientists know it to be an observation device constructed by an alien civilization of non-human intelligent life.

This great mineral vein is located within an extremely large hole comparable to a several-kilometer-wide crack boring through the moon itself. The diameter of the crystals themselves reaches up to 30 kilometers.

It seems that, apart from its surface portions, the moon itself is made up of these photonic crystals. The time of its initial operation is unknown, but an estimate based on radioactive carbon dating approximates the moon to have been formed 4.55 billion years ago, while the photonic crystals were created 4.6 billion years ago.

Photonic crystals are material that can be found on Earth, crystals that, on a microscopic level, regularly alternate between layers of high and low refractive index. In this way, it is a substance that can control the transmission of light, making it a valuable material for a quantum computer using light, as well as the manufacture of nanomachines.

Humanity has only managed to successfully make photonic crystals a few centimeters in length since intensive study of them began in the 20th century, with the Harwey family only able to make a unit less than a centimeter in size while Atlas has been slightly more successful, but only by a very marginal percentage.

The core of the Moon Cell is a much larger photonic crystal, about 3000 kilometers in length, and uses light as its storage medium, as well as all of its high-level data control systems to transmit data and system commands.

The giant photonic crystal slumbering beneath the moon can be considered a supercomputer of enormous size, incredible complexity, and immeasurable processing power that was created from such nanoparticles.

Although most supercomputer development was abandoned in the 2010s in favor of shifting the focus to cloud computing, the processing power of all digital media on Earth combined cannot hope to match the capabilities of the substance. The Moon Cell's core is made of the purest type of photonic crystal, a material that can act like the crystals used in holography to record media.

It scans the entire Earth about once per nanosecond and compiles the results of its scan in its database. It is a pseudo-intelligent being that has the supreme ability to affect the outside world with its internal calculations.

As an eye that observes the Earth, it acts as a database of human history that faithfully simulates all life on Earth and can provide a definite prediction of the future. It is a processor with a massive memory that has recorded the habits, history, ideas, and even the souls of humanity.

As it can also affect the outside world with its calculations, it has the power to "grant wishes." In this way, it can be thought of as a Pandora's Box that promises the next stage of evolution. It promises God-like power to those intelligent lifeforms who have become technologically advanced enough to scan the moon's interior.

Knowing all of this I had to get this magnificent use of technology. But not only that info involving the past as BB finally spoke confirming my idea, "Hmm… with the Moon Cell returning at 100% capacity the memory drive of the True Magic you spoke of is within our processors. We can even replicate it for you to channel, however… the concern would be our power source…"

I nodded at this feeling happy inside despite the lack of a power source. With the Moon Cell, I can go into technological worlds and magic ones if the need arises. Since the Moon Cell acts much like Swirl of Root and is a safe means of obtaining True Magic even if it's the bastardized version.

I should briefly relax before finally starting the next part of my journey. I should reconnect with my friends… or I guess lovers. Let's see what Rem and Emilia are doing.
