Chapter 12

Darwin stood next to Kellan and waited with bated breath as Jacob opened the doors to the cupboard. He was quite disappointed at the sight that greeted him. The three female dolls were nothing special. One of them was very old, and it wore a beautiful baby blue gown. That must be the antique doll. It was approximately ten inches in length from the top of its head to the sole of her shoes. It had a pair of wide, dark-blue eyes, light-brown hair, and ruby-red lips. It was a beautiful doll. The other two female dolls were also pretty, but smaller in size. They were identical and about two inches shorter than the first doll. They were in blouses and tight, fitted jeans. They had blonde hair, green eyes, and pinkish lips. It was almost anticlimactic. Darwin was disappointed nothing more exciting had occurred.

“They look great,” Kellan complimented after a moment of silence.

Darwin forced a grin as he faced Jacob once again. “I agree with—”

“My, my, my. What a pleasant surprise.”
