Chapter 5: The Late Participant
"Gobo Mountain? The Monster? Are you sure?" asked Jacob Jovica, the head of the SHR organization.
"Yes sir, we believe that the Monster might be responsible for the death of two men on Gobo Mountain and is probably somewhere around here, our men is searching the perimeter now, but we received a report that there was someone else with the Monster, some of the hunters are chasing whoever that might be," Frank answered.
"Well Frank, normally I would say that this is none of our business since we weren't dispatched by the higher ups to join the hunt, but chances are that if we kept this to ourselves and somehow were exposed, our heads will be hanging on the gates of The Council of Ruler's castle. So I am going to have to inform the higher ups about this, but for now, your job is to confirm whether or not this is in fact the monster's doing, you got it?"
"Yes sir, I understood, we'll do as you command," as Frank hung up the phone.
"So... What should we do now?" the man with the white jacket asked.
"Well, boss is going to inform the higher ups about this, but we have to make sure that the monster was behind this, for now we should just be looking for evidence and wait for the response from the higher ups. Did you find anything new, Percy?"
"Not really, no. I have been looking for the possibilities that the damage wasn't caused by weapons but by pure brute strength, but based on the database we have on all of the super powers around world, the only ones who could do this is either Adalhard Laycon, Ratna Garbi, or Ales Edith. The problem is that all of them is nowhere near the nation, heck they are on the different side of the earth right now."
"What about those outside the database?" Frank asked.
"Well we have no real way to confirm that considering there are those who hid their powers and those who have high position and political power to refuse being in the database." Percy answered.
"Then why the hell are we even suspecting it to be the monster in the first place!" a white hair man yelled out.
"In normal circumstances, we wouldn't conclude so quickly, however considering what this is happening at this very date, it is safe to assume that the monster could be anywhere, Ray."
The man replied, "That is just bullshit, those darn higher ups made it as if it is the end of the world or something, I don't know why exactly they wanted the monster dead, but whatever it is, it's enough to scare the shit out of them for them to actually allowed killing babies and people just to make sure that damn monster dies."
Percy quickly responded, "Shush, are you trying to get us killed? If someone heard you, they could reported us for conspiring against the Rulers."
"I don't give a shit! Because of their decision, many incidents like this are happening in the entire world right now, people killing each other and act as if they did it because they thought the other was either the monster or those who protected the monster, when in reality, they were just fulfilling their heart's desire."
"The monster is a far more bigger threat right now so it makes sense that they are trying their best to eliminate whoever the monster may be," Frank answered.
"I don't care what the monster is doing or is about to do in the future, all I know is that after the dust settles, things will never be the same again after this day, and it ain't the monster's fault." Ray yelled out.
Frank was silent by Ray's word, because he couldn't argue with him no more. Percy in the other hand, was about to respond to that statement, when all of the sudden, Frank's phone rung. He picked it up, turned around, backing the other two. He spoke to the phone for a couple of minutes and then hung up. He turned around, and with a pale face, he spoke.
"It has been decided. We will be participating in the hunt, the entire SHR will."
