Thursday Trouble!

Oh no, it's Thursday, and I am late for class. I get dressed and ready, then rush to class. I shouldn't have stayed up late; I hope I don't get into any trouble. I enter my first class, Physics, and I see Wesley sitting next to Sharon. I look away, and at the teacher.

"I'm sorry I'm late Mr. Moorthy, I overslept," I say, feeling guilty.

"I'll let you off with a warning this time, but next time, it'll be a day in detention," he said.

"Yes, sir," I said, then took a seat next to Lilith.

I turned to look back at Wesley with an unsure look, then he noticed, and looked back at me. Then Sharon noticed, and elbowed him, causing our stare to break. She looked at me in disgust, like I was some monster. She wouldn't force him to date her if she liked him. But I don't think she knows that Wesley doesn't like her and that her dad, the principal, is paying Wesley's tuition to make him date her and keep him here at Oakley Hills. I roll my eyes, ignoring her bratty antics, and I turned to Lilith.

"Lili, I think I might just cross her," I said, already annoyed that I have to see Wes and Sharon together.

"It'll be okay Ali, just don't get into too much trouble," she said.

"Okay, I'll try."

I tried to focus on my assignment for Physics, but I just couldn't shake off the feeling that something bad was going to happen. I ask the teacher if I could use the restroom, and he let me go. I walk up to the bathroom mirror and peer at my reflection.

"I am beautiful, I am brave, I am strong," I say repeatedly while looking at my reflection.

"I am beautiful, I am brave, I am-"

"Stupid, you are ugly, you are dumb, you are stupid." says a voice from behind me.

I stare into the reflection, and see Sharon, standing behind me. I turn around and look at her. She is looking at me with that same disgusted face.

"What do you want Sharon?" I say, completely annoyed.

"Get away from Wesley, he is mine." She snaps back.

"First of all, you don't own him, and secondly, I can talk to whoever I want, whenever I want, and you don't tell me what to do."

"Oh, I can get you kicked out, easily by calling my dad, and telling him that you did something, even if you didn't. I did it before, and I can do it again..."

I get pissed off at her taunting me, I wanted to snatch that blonde hair of hers, and drag her. I was so frustrated at her threat that I let a few words slip out.

"Well, little do you know, that dad of yours has been lying to you all this time."

"W-what do you mean?"

"Ha, he has been paying Wesley's tuition for him to stay at this school, in exchange for Wesley being your "boyfriend"."

"That's not true!"

"Oh, yes, it is true, and Wesley likes me, not you. So technically, he is my boyfriend, and I have texts to prove it!"

I show her the texts of us flirty and chatting all last night, and she goes berserk. She pushes me down on the floor and begins screaming and scratching at my face. I wasn't going to let him mess up my face, so I shove her off me, and pushed her, causing her to slam against the wall, then I slapped her.

"Don't you ever touch me again!"

"Just watch, you won't be here any longer, and neither will that dumb Wesley either. You can both leave for all I care."

I realized my mistake, wishing I could reverse everything that happened. I can't believe I snapped like that. Maybe she wouldn't have followed me here if I never went to the bathroom. Maybe if I didn't look at Wesley, she wouldn't have gotten suspicious. Maybe if I never dated Wesley, no one would be harmed or in trouble. I clean my face, apply makeup to hide the scratches, and head back to class. I sit back down next to Lilith, and I could feel Sharon staring at me from behind.

"Hey, are you okay?" asked Lilith.

"Yeah, I'll tell you later what happened," I spoke.

"Okay."

When school is over for the day, I sit on my bed and prepare to tell Lilith what happened. I told her everything in detail. She was surprised, and also worried for me because now I could actually get kicked out, and Wesley could too. But she did tell me about a rumor she heard going around school.

"Did you hear the rumor about the principal?"

"No, what's it about?"

"The principal has been acting as someone else, which is illegal, it's a fraud, and some kids tried breaking into his office to find proof but were caught and expelled."

"Oh, my goodness, that is not what I expected."

"Yeah, it was hard to believe, but for the students to get expelled seems a bit too harsh, so it is suspicious."

"I agree."

I couldn't stop thinking about what she had told me, I went to sleep, and decided to find out for myself if the rumor was true. Tomorrow is Friday, and it is a free day, so no one has class. Most people just go shopping or throw parties from what I've heard. I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep. I was having a dream when I appeared to be in the principal's office. He walked in the door, holding a piece of paper, he didn't seem to notice me, so I was probably spectating. I saw him walk to the left corner of his room, where he had a small trash bin. He moved the trash bin, and under it was a safe-like floor piece. I was confused but interested in what it could be for. I continued to watch; he entered a code, and it unlocked. He lifted the hinge and placed the paper in the safe. He locked it closed and placed the paper trash bin back on top of it, making it invisible. Then, he looks at me in my eyes, maybe he can see me, but this is a dream, so how? I woke up, and was shocked, the principal was hiding much more than I thought. I decided to make a break-in plan. The plan begins tomorrow night when the clock hits 12.
