Thea’s POV
The moonlight filters through the trees, casting a soft glow on the cobblestone pathway. My footsteps echo as I make my way to Emma's home, my heart pounding with uncertainty. My hair is still wet from the bath I took at Ms. Victoria’s house, which sends a chill down my spine from the cold night air.
Ms Victoria asked me to stay the night, not wanting me to travel through the darkest part of town on my own, but as soon as I realized my feelings for Hudson, I couldn’t wait to talk to him.
Thoughts of Hudson swirl in my mind, and I can't shake the realization that my feelings for him run deeper than I ever admitted.
The dim lights flicker in Emma’s kitchen windows, and the door creaks open as I enter. I'm not sure what I expect, but I find Hudson emerging from the shadows. His eyes, a mix of relief and concern, meet mine, and something in me softens.
