That day…

One day, I was walking home from school when j noticed a kitten stuck in a tree. I rushed over to go help the stranded kitten. To my surprise I seen a boy hiding behind the tree. He looked about my age, maybe even older! I was slowly approached him and asked what was wrong. He was so uncomfortable that he turned away and looked the other direction. I left him alone. There I stood over the boy, watching him and waiting for a response. When he finally opened up, he shyly said

"T- TThe name is Derrion."

I calmly responded with a " Nice to meet you Derrion, my name is Maya, Maya Bell."
