"Why?"
That one word question coldly stated made Cole silenced himself. He knew it. He should not have asked.
"Apologies, Sir. The curiosity got the best of me."
The inside of the car fell silent. Raven was leaning his elbow on the window glass. And he positioned his cheek against his palm then closed his eyes.
Cole thought the President would not answer his question. Unexpectedly, after a few minutes of silence, he responded.
"He is from the same village as me."
Cole was visibly surprised. He knew that before the President was found by his father, he was living a frugal life with his mother in a remote village. And something terrible happened that almost killed his mother.
The President never told anyone the details but based on his mother's terrible condition that until now she can't walk, it was a horrifying experience.
