It Was More than Obvious, but, Yes, She Joins

Harry was more than a little annoyed that his teleportation circle back at the hotel suite didn't work.

The damn dog and his antics. If he found that crow and brought her back to their place... It was just like him, actually. He would definitely wipe the circle to have sex that had a high chance of ending in death.

Harry, the very easygoing man with a high breaking point that he was, wouldn't have thought much of it, but the confused look on the face of the cute girl with him made it so he couldn't forgive his godfather.

He was looking like a complete idiot!

So, he tried to play it off and instead teleported himself and Valerie to the room his Pawns were staying at.

When the King appeared, holding the perfect hand of a dhampir, standing several feet from a Winky being shoved into a wall. House-elf voyeurism was like watching a couple of girls with a cup. Harry gagged a little bit while mumbling an apology to Valerie as he dragged her to the exit.

"Young Master!" "Harry Potter Sir!"

Dobby had stopped his movements, but he made no move to cover up or remove himself.

"Uhh, sorry Dobby, we'll be going now," he looked over to the dhampir that looked at the naked duo with unmasked fascination. "These are Dobby and Winky, my Pawns... so let's go now."

"Did you eat yet, sir, are you hungry?"

Harry bit back a gag, ignored his friend and made his way to the apartment, forgetting the fact that his teleportation circle didn't work a few minutes ago. He just wanted to fly and possibly Obliviate himself in transit.

"Ahh, Young Master, I'm almost done with supper!"

Winky (fully clothed) magically moved the handmade ramen from the counter to the table. Harry would never be able to understand house-elf magic, but devil house-elf magic was on a whole other level. The ramen had been finished and plated the second he opened the door to his suite. Winky was able to predict his desires and cook something that should have taken longer to finish with perfect timing.

However, he couldn't really ponder house-elf magic because he was too busy looking at the hotel room.

Harry had only seen spears of light magic hit the ground after he reincarnated Dobby, but it was enough to know that the entire room had been struck by plenty of them. Not to mention the crushed furniture and gaping hole next to the door to Sirius' bedroom. Thankfully, it wasn't a load bearing wall.

The King internally checked his second source of magic that was connected to his Evil Pieces and knew for sure that the mutt was alive. That was enough for him.

He whipped out his wand, performing rapid-fire Reparos while he pulled out a chair at the table for Valerie.

Only to find her standing outside the doorway with her left eyebrow raised.

Harry blinked at her in confusion, only for her to roll her red eyes.

"Right..." Harry said before he coughed into a fist. "Vampires. Would you like to come in."

"Of course," she performed an overexerted curtsy before she closed the door behind her and sat down at the table.

She lifted a pair of chopsticks with her dainty fingers, only to have a Phoenix flame into existence on the table, plopping its beak into her bowl before slurping noodles.

Harry felt like killing himself, but instead, he pushed Fawkes bowl away from Valerie and shoving his own in its place.

"Is it always like this?"

He was about to lie and say it wasn't, but the serious look on her face stopped him.

"Right in one," Harry cheekily retorted before his face heated up and he felt a blush coming. "It's uhh... we keep it loose."

"Pffft!" Valerie snorted, held her sides and started giggling non stop. Her giggles turned to slight sobbing cries, but before Harry could move over to comfort her, she stopped, smiled to him, and started eating.

Harry couldn't help but dwell of how perfect that smile was. Maybe that was a sign that something was wrong with him?

One thing he was sure of though, was this may have been the weirdest day he'd ever had. And Harry Potter had lived through a lot of weird days.

He was still hungry too.

"So you can take the bed and I'll-"

"No."

"But I-"

"No. You keep the voices away."

"But the Resurrection Sto-"

"No."

Harry sighed as he watched Valerie strip down to her underwear before siding under the covers of his bed. He didn't want to anger this stubborn woman, so he changed into some pajama pants and slid in next to her.

"Do you want to die?"

'Huh?' Harry thought to himself. He turned over to face the dhampir, but felt her body slide over on him and rest on his chest.

"Do you make a habit of walking to your death?"

Harry's face formed a blush far harder than in the dining room or when they caught the house-elves getting busy," I-I, of course, no-"

"Are you serious? I meant that as a rhetorical question?"

"It was just one time!" He yelled. Harry was about to continue, but he felt Valrie's nose press against his own.

"You invited a vampire into your house and let her into your bed. A stranger. A stranger you kidnapped who happened to obviously love sucking your blood."

"That's..." she had a point, but Harry couldn't feel himself think while he was breathing her breath. Gazing into her broken soul where he felt such a sense of kinship to. He mumbled under his breath.

Harry felt her move closer to him and could barely breathe.

"Hmm?"

He knew she heard what he said. It's not like their normal humans, with her senses, he was sure that Valerie could have heard that mumble from the other room!

"I said," his breath hitched. "I trust you."

"And that's why you're an idiot," she whispered to him. "I'll ask again, seriously this time, are you suicidal? I have to be sure the way you waltzed into the castle and your last response."

Harry knew this moment was an important one. For as much as her mood swings occurred, Harry felt that Valerie was a fairly serious person overall.

"No," he said without a hint of nervousness. "Not anymore."

"So why didn't you invite me into your peerage when you first stole me away?" she drew backward enough for Harry to breathe regularly again, but she was still fairly close and pressed up against him. He just noticed the rest of her body, that last drunken encounter was nothing like this, and it was just teasing to set him off guard. Right?

He did, however, know what he was referring to. It may not be common knowledge to all reincarnated devils, but all Kings knew that one of the functions of the Evil Pieces was nearly forcing loyalty to their master.

No, there was no insidious mind control spells that slowly bent the wills of the peerage members to better fit their king. A weak reincarnated devil needed an Evil Piece. Not only were Stray Devils hunted on sight, sometimes with a bounty on their heads, but weak Stray Devils couldn't retain their sanity without their King to hold them together. Only High-Class devils and above had the magical power to sustain themselves without an Evil Piece.

"I didn't want to force you to choose between eternal servitude under me or staying under lock and key. Isn't that obvious?"

Valerie growled a little, "That still doesn't mean you can trust me so much."

"Fine," Harry waved his hand to Accio his box of remaining pieces to him. Since he didn't use his wand, it tore a hole through the jacket he left hanging on the door. Not like he cared much, nothing a Reparo can't fix. "Would you like to join my peerage?"

"I can't," she said immediately after he finished speaking.

"And this is just more proof," she cocked her head to the side before he finished. "More proof that all woman are insane."

Valerie bit her lip and slid off him to his side, but Harry wasn't done, so he pulled her close, refusing to let her look away.

"I'm broken."

'Well, that's bloody obvious,' he thought to himself. They both were well aware that her Sacred Gear was damaged.

Instead of agreeing with her, he replied with, "So am I."

"Not like that. I'm dying. Without a piece of my Sacred Gear, I-"

"Then we'll get the last piece back, easy."

Her eyes narrowed, "Rizevim Livan Lucifer."

That... that was a lot for Harry to take in. Rizevim Lucifer was one of the three known Super Devils. His power was near unbeatable. If unleashed, he would have no trouble destroying a metropolitan city with one charged attack.

But, he wouldn't be Harry Potter if he didn't try to save people. Especially this woman.

"I, Harry Potter of House Beleth ask for your service," he pulled a chess piece out of the box and Valerie gasped in surprise, "as my Queen. We find a way to return what is yours."

"I-I can't"

Tears started flowing from her eyes. Because of her Longinus, she was worth more than an average piece. Since she could see all the pieces, she knew that he could easily reincarnate her with 2 Bishops or around 5-6 Pawns.

"I know that you will serve me well," Harry's voice dropped low, it was no longer commanding, but soft and raw. "I trust you. Do you trust me?"

She nodded in return. Harry was sure she would be a good Queen. Not only did he feel that she deserved it, but she had the poise and personality needed to represent him, the Sacred Gear to prove herself with her strength, and he figured that she knew more about this than he did.

Sure, she had been locked in the castle her whole life, but she acted like she had been taught all of this. Or maybe read about it all? Harry didn't know, but he trusted his gut. It got him this far.

"So mote it be."

I went outside of canon a bit, but I decided to have 2 parts of the Grail stolen like canon would be too much trouble, since it would be at the Tepes castle. The hardest one to regain is still gone through and now Harry has a goal and isn't getting stronger for the sake of it.

It wouldn't fit his MO.
