IT was one week had passed since I have received that message, telling me that I should claim my marriage certificate in an office. My whole world was literally shaken by that sudden message I just received. My eyes went wide as I finished reading the message that has been sent to me. I even screamed ‘What?!’ loud and good thing Bella didn’t hear it because she didn’t go to my room to check what was happening why I yelled. At first, I thought that the sender was nuts so I just disregard the message. What matters to me at that time was that I need to go to school and attend my classes that afternoon. I also think that maybe they just send it wrong to the wrong person because why am I married in the first place? I just had broken up with my boyfriend. Not until if, Felix is crazy enough to hire a lawyer and made a marriage certificate telling that we are married together so I have no choice. Tss. As if. If Felix really makes that kind of tactic, I’ll die first before I’ll came back to him. But why would he do that? If he really did that, I think he is totally crazy.
Did I love him? Yes. In the past. No matter how I love him from the very first moment that I catch him cheating on me, he already lost me. I’m hurt. And there’s no way I would come back to him again. I’ll never come back to the person who already broke me.
If he broke me once, then he wouldn’t mind hurting me twice or more.
My mind was busy thinking about the near finals so I need to review, if not so, I won’t pass and that means one thing. I won’t graduate. And I don’t want that because I have been working so hard to get here. I have gone through a lot already and there’s no room for giving up now. I am near to reaching my dreams so I have to give my all. In the end, I just take the message off my mind and deleted the message. The university was so busy since it will be just weeks now and we will finally graduate. And of course, the finals.
Bella and I were also busy reviewing for our finals. I have been waiting for this so I must give all of my best. I shouldn’t let my first heartbreak with Felix affect me. I should only focus on my goal this time. Focus only on my goal. In my dreams.
This time, Felix wasn’t included. I should pass my finals in order to reward myself for being hardworking to be able to go to school.
“Hey, Audrey, I’ll just buy a coffee and we’ll continue reviewing. Okay?” I nodded my head at my best friend as she stoop up to grab her wallet and phone before she left.
We badly need a break right now because I have been reading a book five times already that is related to my one subject. The information won’t go inside my head because I felt that my brain is now overloaded.
I closed the book that I am reading and stretched my arms and massage my neck. Starting today is really a hell day for us, graduating students. But for our dreams, we’ll never give up. I felt so tired and my brain was screaming to take a short nap but I couldn’t just take it. A short break is all I need.
I stand up from sitting on the floor. Bella and I are reviewing together here in the living room. It was her idea in the first place. Not to mention that we have been doing this from the very beginning since we knew each other.
I went to my room and grab my phone from the bedside table. We also had an agreement that we should leave our gadgets in our own rooms and turned them off so no one would disturb us from focusing on our things.
I waited for at least fifteen minutes when Bella came back with four cups of coffee with her so I put my phone on the mini table where are we reviewing together.
“I know you are a coffee lover but… why buy four cups?” I curiously asked her because honestly, it was enough if she only buys only two cups of coffee.
“So we could also have the other later, duh?” she explained.
I just shake my head slowly because I have always been repeating telling her that we should have ordered and taken it here to the condo so we wouldn’t have been going out to buy but she refused to as the reason that she said that we also need to go out sometimes when we are reviewing because our brain needs it.
For her, if we only locked ourselves in one place and just take a break and won’t go outside, our brain couldn’t relax for a bit.
“We should go to the park later at 5 PM to go for a walk so our brain could relax,” she suggested after she take a sip from her cup. “You should go with me. I won’t take a no as an answer,” she added as she glared at me which I also glared back at her.
“As far as I know, when my answer is either no or a yes, you will also keep on dragging me. So my answer even matters?” I rolled my eyes after I said that.
Bella and I love doing things together. We even live together. We’ve been best friends for years yet we are still together until college and reaching our dreams together. Ever since I am the only one left, she never leaves my side. When we are going to college, she even begged her parents to let us live in one condo unit because she didn’t want to be alone. She even cried that day, afraid that her parents won’t agree. But luckily, they agreed. Her parents were like also my parents. I considered them as my family now.
“After we go out for a walk, let’s grab a coffee again.” I rolled my eyes as she wiggled her eyebrows on her own suggestion.
“As far as I know, you just want to take a glimpse of your crush at the coffee shop, tss.”
She thought I wouldn’t know that she have a crush doing part-time at that coffee shop. That guy was also the reason why she always want to buy a coffee at that shop was because of her ultimate crush who didn’t notice her.
Well, she didn’t confess though. I wonder why that guy won’t notice Bella when she always went there to buy a coffee. Bella was beautiful and every guy would turn their head on her. Hmm…
“Shhh, that was just our secret.”
“Tss.”
We continued reviewing and when the clock strikes at five, we cleaned up our things and prepared to go out to the park to take a walk just like what she suggested.
“Let’s grab a cup of coffee first,” she started that made me look at her in confusion.
“I thought you said earlier that we’ll just grab when we go home?”
This girl. She’s really cunning. If she wants to see her crush every day then she should have applied to work in the shop. In that case, she could take a glimpse of her crush.”
She didn’t respond and just wink at me before opening the car’s door and going out. I also went out of the car and we are about to go inside when my eyes darted from the person beside the shop’s window and you know what’s ironic? He’s with a girl.
