Only time will tell...

It was night. The sky was as if a chocolate cake covered with mint and the wind was cold and low, it was night of an important event - an event that will change the course of human history.

Year 2089

After World War III the way Earth looked and was changed completely. Countries, one after the other, fell and soon the many countries shrunk into three main factions. The Eastern faction, the Western faction and the Central faction, these factions were sub divided into four continents each.

The monopoly of the countries died with the countries and a global governmental body was formed - the Global Regency, also called the 'Regency'. Unlike the previous chaos, the rule under Regency was peaceful and wars would not take place.

"I think maybe I should say yes, or, maybe it could be dangerous, I should just say no," Edith sighed; she was not sure, which was better.

"You have been saying the same thing for an hour!" Edith's roommate gave an irritated look to Edith, she was sleeping on her bed reading a magazine, well, she was at least trying to, but Edith was too irritating to miss.

"Jenny! Please help me!" Edith cried as ran towards Jenny laying down on her lap, the two of them were childhood friends and probably knew each themselves better them own, Edith though Jenny will end her problem easily she should have just asked her opinion first!

"You are not sure whether or not you should go on the blind date, right?" Jenny asked Edith, as she patted the girl's head softly. She was such a crybaby! Edith just nodded in reply as she kept her face on Jenny's lap and hugged her waist tightly.

"Then I say you should go, it is not like he is a complete stranger, is he?" Jenny picked Edith up and talked to her face to face. "He is, at least in a way. We meet each other on the dating site, you forced me on." Edith had never been on a date, the innocent girl had not even had a crush on anyone in her life, well, Jenny was in the same boat but in her case, Jenny found all the boys, who asked her out to be boring and not her type. Anyway, to socialize Edith more, Jenny forced her to make an account on a famous dating site.

"Then you must have seen his picture," Jenny asked.

"Yes," Edith stood up and picked her phone from her study table. The two of them lived in a upper-middle class building with quite a lot of space for the two of them, they went to Allen High School, second year students. Although, it was rare for high schoolers to live on own, they were a rare pair themselves.

"Hmm... he is handsome and looks around our age what is the problem in going on a date with him? Not like you will end in a love hotel," Jenny was shown the pictures Edith had of the man in talk, she though he was quite handsome, and she was being too strict, he looked like he was twenty at maximum, so why was Edith so scared?

"Well, it is not that what I worried about... I have never been with anyone else than you or some of our classmates and with boys..." Edith was saying the truth, it was not that she was socially awkward, she had many female friends, and she was just shy around the other gender.

"Fine, if you are so shy I will go with you! Will that be enough?" Jenny sighed, what would happen to this girl without her? Edith was dancing with joy, now that Jenny was coming with her she could be relaxed.

"You don't need to hide in the bushes," Edith bends down slightly as she talked to bushes, or rather to Jenny who was hiding in the bushes.

"A date means two people alone, there will be no use of going through so much if I just stand between the two of you as third wheel," Jenny deadpanned, "that aside, you said that he is going to take you to a casino, right?" She asked.

"Yes, after I agreed for the date he told me he will take me to a casino." Edith replied, "He said he had some work over there and will just show me around after it was done."

"Hmm... sounds odd for someone to go in a casino for a date and being twenty, at that. What was his name, again?" Jenny was curious about this man; he seemed quite a eccentric fellow.

"Luke Fletcher, at least that is what he has on his account," Edith replied.

"Anything else?"

"He did not say and I did not ask," Edith shrugged.

'Huh... she is such a lamb,' Jenny inwardly sighed, 'Luke... you seem a interesting person.'

The previous night.

"She agreed," said an old man sitting before a computer screen, inside a dark room, as per what he had thought everything was going according to the plan.

The room was actually a shed, with a single door to outside and a single large window through which moonlight poured in, the walls were made out of wood from the forest outside and even though a shed meant shelter frequent voices of the wild could be heard.

"Creek~" The door opened slowly, a young man stepped in, in his hand was a gun, Silver Mgheal IV, the young man was around the age of twenty, he wore a black suit opened at the neck showing his white undershirt.

The old man turned towards the door, a wry smile appeared on his face, he opened his mouth, "So you c-"

"Bang!" Before the old man could say a word, the man shot him in between his eyes, a headshot, the old man, or, the body of the old man swung back with great force and slumped on the wooden wall with a 'thud'.

The man moved towards the computer screen, ignoring the sin he had just committed, a smirk appeared on his face, "Edith Rosebloom... I am coming."

This night had given birth to the events, which would alter history to an extant beyond the beyond, whether the night shine like a black diamond or the day will kill it like the sword of light slaying the evil black dragon, what shall happen to time? Only time will tell...

The chapter one, I think it was not full of information and was enough to give an idea about the book.
